Quite herbal, grassy hoppy, somewhat earthy, cola, caramel aroma. Somewhat boozy, chewy caramel, chocolate, cola, plum, dark fruity, cracker, grassy flavor with a tangy, boozy, a bit syrupy finish. One of my least favorite beers from Boulevard.

The nose starts with nutty - dark malts, biscuit, toast, toffee and herbal hops. The taste starts with rich brown and dark malts, a little biscuit and toasty brown malts. Next comes nutty caramel and toffee, The end has a candy sugar like sweetness with a decent herbal/grassy bitterness; as well as a boozy smack.
Overall it’s okay, but not great. It has the typical UK style malt/hop characteristics but it’s quite boozy tasting.

Served in taster on draft. Pours deep amber/brown with tan head. Spicy nose but not getting much else. Creamy, malty texture with vanilla toffee malt taste. Lighter finish.

Bottle. Dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is orange, malt, hop, caramel. Flavour is orange, malt, hop, caramel, bread. Full body. Nice beer.

Brilliant copper color with lasting tan head. Toffee, spicy yeast, vanilla, pitfruit aromas. Medium body with average co2. Rich toffee, caramel flavors with spicy, lightly tart pit fruits---warming finish----good.

Pours a dark black brownish color with a nice mocha head. Nose is hoppy and oaky. Taste is malty, yeasty and spicy. Finishes on some fruity slightly bitter cherry notes. quaff score 7 / 1O

Pours a muddy brown with a light tan head and aroma of malt and caramel. Taste is well balanced, malt, caramel, tart fruits, and spices with a nice, bitter finish. Nice English Ale

Clear medium to dark brown colour with a average, creamy - frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, caramelized sugar, light to moderate hoppy, toffee, bread. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet, light acidic and moderate bitter with a long duration, caramel, syrup. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20130216]

This was at the esbls tasting in Wood River, IL. Pours a copper color with a beige head. Nose of fruit and treacle Medium body. Smooth mouthfeel. and a smooth mouthfeel. Flavor shows some nuts, fruit like banana and some pepper. A nice drinkable beer. Tasty. ,

750ml bottle. Murky amber brown with a foamy beige head. Aroma of toffee, dates, alcohol, bread and a light mustiness. Flavor is malty toffee and caramel with raisins, alcohol heat and a light tartness. Medium body with a long, dry finish. Pretty nice beer, lots of malt and fruitiness with a light tartness.
