3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at brewery. Pours hazy golden copper with white head. The sample is bold and citrusy with a light floral pine and ends punishingly dry. Good but strong on the hops. I’m interested to see if this becomes something else.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Red’s. Poured a clear dark orange color with an off white head. Cotton candy, toffee, and orange peel aromas with a whiff of alcohol. Light to medium bodied and dryish with mild bitterness. A bit sticky on the tongue with some warming alcohol. Earthy hop, pine resin, subdued toffee, and a touch of orange marmalade.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Several samples at the 2011 KC Strong Ale Festival. Pour is a mostly clear amber with a smallish off white head. Aroma starts off with a clean hop character, resinous, balanced nicely with a toasted malt. The taste is a really nice balance between the brightness of the hop resin and the clean toasted malt character. Palate is medium bodied, soft carbonation and a dry clean hop finish. Nice stuff, and unique from single wide, double wide and the 21st anniversary beer. Glad I had a chance to try it.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled at 2011 Augusta Bottoms fest - pours clear copper / amber with a beige head. The aroma has rich caramel, cream, toast and brown sugar. Medium / full body with a modest amount of sharp carbonation on the finish. The flavor starts very sweet and malty with aspects of the aroma and some subdued spicy / piny hops. The finish is syrupy and a bit cloying with some spicy hoppiness that is lingering. Okay beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampled at the Augusta Bottoms Festival. This beer is clear and amber in color. A nice tan head. I smell grain, soft hops, and lots ofbmalt. The flavorbis fullmof malt andbthat makes forba sweet beer. Some grain that borders on rye. Tart bitter citrus hops. Alcohol is barely noticed. A rich smooth feel. This is kind of over done andbtoo sweet. Still it is not bad.
