Commercial Description:
Double-Wide I.P.A. uses Columbus and Magnum hops for both bittering and aroma with Chinook hops added in the whirlpool. It is dry hopped with generous amounts of Cascade, Bravo, Centennial, and Chinook hops. The resulting beer has a hop forward aroma, redolent of peach and apricot. The assertive flavor bursts with the citrus qualities of blood orange and lemon with a slight caramel malt backbone to balance the intense hop flavor. There is little restraint in the flavor of this beer; it is certainly not for the pedestrian palate.

Overly sweet and syrupy. Cloying. Also has a stale malt flavor, with very little hoppage. Maybe its just me, and I need to try this one again, but it just didn’t work for me.

750 ml bottle, batch 08303. Pours a murky tea color with a monstrous frothy off white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is sweet and sugary fruity citrus and melon hops with a little resin.

The flavor is subdued and a bit watery with some fruity hops and some resiny bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is light bodied and watery.

Overall, unbalanced towards the hops and pretty watery washed out mouthfeel, but I like the hop aromas and flavors.

Bottle courtesy of beastiefan2k, pours hazy orange with thick white head. Aroma is citrus. First taste is citrus and spice bite. Some alcohol is noticible but not overpowering. The finish is citrus hops. Very good IPA.

Color is a deep foggy orange brown. Carbonation is good with a thick head. Aroma is a nice hoppy scent. Taste is hoppy and spicy. Starting with a medium body it goes down crisp with a spicy feel. Finish jumps out rich with a citrus bite then a little malt, this is followed by hop spiciness and lemon zest. After taste is a mild bitterness with the citrus building up a bit. Its a little more citric then I like but still a good IPA.

Batch 08303 - Pours a murky amber with a massive tan head...aroma is sweet hop florals and candy malt...flavour is a decent balance of fruit, grain, caramel and hops...somehow isn’t sweet or bitter??...this brew as a bit of an identity crisis...is it IPA, DIPA or pale?...nowhere near as bitter as I’d expect, but still very tasty...WTF?

750ml bottle from matt. thanks again... pours a dark copper brown with a frothy slightly off white head... nose had lots of caramel and biscuity malt and not as hop dominant as one would expect. some floral hops due come into play as the beer warms... lots of caramel malt and subdued citrus and pine hops. similarly to single wide, there’s not too much bitterness upfront but more so in the finish. lush and creamy mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. this isn’t as hop forward as i would like but it’s still pretty nice. 7/4/7/4/14
