Dec 25, 2008 750, corked and baled courtesy mreusch. Pours clear orange with a massive pale yellow head that produces sheets of lace. Huge aroma: grapefruit, mango, pine and caramel. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Initially sweet taste with the same notes as the aroma. Soft resinous earthy finish. To my taste, this beer seems to be in the same midwest IPA camp as Two-Hearted IPA.

Dec 23, 2008 Amber pour with a quarter-inch white head. Fresh, fruity hop aroma. Flavor is not quite as hoppy as I expected, the malt coming out in force with an overtone of citrus. Nicely carbonated with good body and great lacing. Very good.

Dec 20, 2008 I am a big fan of a good IPA, and Boulevard came through with a nice offering in this Double-Wide in their Smokestack line.
Pours amber with an off-white head from the Smokestack 750mL bottle. Hoppy, as expected from an IPA. Malt and hops are the predominant flavors, but with a sweeter finish than many IPAs.

Dec 18, 2008 Pour was medium dark with a thick head. Very hoppy aroma with a little bit of herb. Has a sweet malty finish. Alcohol is well hidden with a medium body.

Dec 18, 2008 Hazy, deep red-amber with a giant, pillowy light tan head. Rich piney, grapefruit centric aroma with a touch of underlying caramel and toffee base. Flavor starts mildly bitter and moderately sweet, and quickly turns moderately-to-highly bitter, carrying through to the finish. Clean, slightly alcoholic finish, slightly medicinal. A bit one-dimensional, but delivers what it promises for an IPA. A nice touch of summer, enjoyed during a nasty December ice storm in Illinois.

Dec 15, 2008 VRBT. Medium amber. Biscuit malts and pine hop flavors. Aroma and taste were identical. Nice. Just not a lot to say here. Surprised at how many different hops were used considering I found it to be a bit of a one note IPA. But it was an enjoyable note.

Dec 15, 2008 Bottle. Pours an amber orange color with plenty of head. Smells very sweet and hoppy. Smooth on the palate with a sweet hop bitter finish. Great IPA.
