Commercial Description:
Double-Wide I.P.A. uses Zeus and Magnum hops for both bittering and aroma with Ahtanum hops added for aroma. There are two additional dry hopping regimen, employing Ahtanum, Centennial and Chinook hops. The resulting beer is hop forward aroma, redolent of peach and apricot. The assertive flavor bursts with the citrus qualities of blood orange and lemon with a slight caramel malt backbone to balance the intense hop flavor. There is little restraint in the flavor of this beer; it is certainly not for the pedestrian palate.

Was excited to find this in Nashville last go around. Smooth and mild IPA with a grassy, piney, citrusy hop aroma. Pours a pretty good looking reddish brown. Slightly sweet caramel flavor. Malt hits the palate on first sip but it fades into a bitter citrus and grapefruit hop finish.

Pours deep cloudy light brown. Head is huge, frothy and last a long time. Aroma is magnificient, with floral hops, a little malty sweetness, some pine and oak. Flavor is Incredibly hoppy with some sweet malt, and apricot fruit undertone. Palate is smooth and has a small bite on the finish. Aftertaste has a little nutty malt flavor to it.

750mL bottle. Slightly murky orange-brown with a large rocky off white head. Citric mettalic hop aroma with tinges of breadiness. Doughy, caramel flavors with an acrid floral hop character. Chalky and citric hop flavors persist. Medicinal bitterness in the finish, with pine and some breadiness. Mouthfeel is a heavy medium, dry.

Bottle courtesy of mreusch. Pours a murky brown with a huge thick light tan head. Aroma of floral and citrusy hops with caramel malt. Flavor of lemon, iced tea, alcohol. Meh, the iced tea is too overpowering in this beer. Not impressed by this one. Too sweet!

purchased this 750 in iowa city at john’s grocery. all i remember about having it was that it was pretty hoppy, the hops were fresh, and i liked it a lot. since i’m in pursuit of 1000 and ratebeer has been down so much lately, shitty ratings will have to suffice here and there.

Bottle. Aroma of grassy, citrusy (vaguely grapefruity) hops, plenty of sweet malt. Flavor has more malt, richer than was expected from the nose, with a great deal of hop bitterness that feels seems more flowery than grassy, still with that vaguely grapefruit feel. Wonderful balance of rich malt with lively hops, a malt base worthy of a big ASA yet without weighing on the palate at all as ASA’s can be apt to do. Superb.

750ml corked bottle poured into a small lager glass. BDW IPA pours murky and the color of tarnished brass. The head is huge and creamy looking. The acidic bite of hops dominates the aroma. This beer is very crisp and clean. The hops are strong but not over-domineering. There is a slight floral taste that adds character to this beer. The finish is quick, dry and leaves you wanting more. This is an excellent beer.
