Commercial Description:
Double-Wide I.P.A. uses Columbus and Magnum hops for both bittering and aroma with Chinook hops added in the whirlpool. It is dry hopped with generous amounts of Cascade, Bravo, Centennial, and Chinook hops. The resulting beer has a hop forward aroma, redolent of peach and apricot. The assertive flavor bursts with the citrus qualities of blood orange and lemon with a slight caramel malt backbone to balance the intense hop flavor. There is little restraint in the flavor of this beer; it is certainly not for the pedestrian palate.

Picked up some Boulevard beers while visiting the Tulsa, OK area. This pours a deep amber color with a thick head which yields lots of scattered spots of lacing. The aroma is malty with resin and pine. Plenty of malts in the flavor with some cookie dough and piney hops with a splash of citrus. Soft and slick backing making this relatively easy drinking. A tad on the malty side but the hops and malts mix well and as the case with the Single Wide there are enough bitter hops to satisfy the hop crave. Good beer.

From a 750 ml corked and caged bottle, this bottle opened with a satisfying "pop" like a bottle of champagne. A cloud of steam rose from the bottle like Aladdin’s Lamp and I expected a genie to appear. No genie, so into the glass it went where it was a dark orange with a very creamy fat light tan head the lasted a very long time and left lacing rings like Elmer’s Glue as it slowly settled. The nose was very rich, with ripe tropical fruit, with an aroma of citrus, pine, and flowers. Rich, smooth and malty mouthfeel that slides smoothly over the tongue. The favor is a good blend of malts and hops with a unusually pleasant bitterness that continues on into the finish. A simply superb beer.

750ml caged & corked bottle (Batch 09191) served in a tulip. Hazy, burnt orange pour with a thick head of creamy beige foam that produced some excellent rings of lace. The aroma was loaded with fresh tropical fruit, peach, mango, grapefruit, along with some rich caramel. The flavor had bitter grapefruit rind, peach, tropical fruit, and also fresh pine. Just enough caramel to smooth things out. The hop profile was pretty awesome. Medium to full-bodied mouthfeel. Lightly carbonated. Delicious!

Batch 09135 Pours orange amber and retains cream head. In your face grapefruit. Little sweetness then an awesome bitterness with a citrus finish.

Big, brutal, and powerful. This is a hop loaded monster with thick syrupy caramel malts to add some balance though it still favors the power of the hop. Lots of fruit hop flavors with some alcohol burn. A cross between Great Divide Hercules and Boulevard’s Single Wide.

Pour is deep orange with a fun pillowy head. Very nice aroma of citrus, caramel, brown sugar, and bready yeast. Some barleywine characteristics. Surprisingly alcoholic flavored for only 8.5% ABV, yet not offputting by any means. That is my only complaint with this brew. Very well done.

Pours a dark goldish-brown with a nice foamy head. Lots of lacing and the aroma is of hops and spices. Fruity/hoppy finish that goes down nice and smooth. A very good beer.
