Commercial Description:
Double-Wide I.P.A. uses Columbus and Magnum hops for both bittering and aroma with Chinook hops added in the whirlpool. It is dry hopped with generous amounts of Cascade, Bravo, Centennial, and Chinook hops. The resulting beer has a hop forward aroma, redolent of peach and apricot. The assertive flavor bursts with the citrus qualities of blood orange and lemon with a slight caramel malt backbone to balance the intense hop flavor. There is little restraint in the flavor of this beer; it is certainly not for the pedestrian palate.

Bottle shared via piscator. Pours a murky tangerine with huge head, three four fingers easy. Nose- very rich smelling, caramel just a little hop citrus. Taste- thick and chewy, big caramel sweetness. Hops are muted by the malt, not much of a piney or citrus feel to it. More spicy than bitter really. Low to medium carbonation and heavy bodied.

Always interesting when we get some random midwest brewery randomly starting to be distributed here. SUPER lacy frothy, super microscopic bubbled light tan head on gleaming ultra-hazed burnt orange. Nose of sweet pine, overripe grapefruit, and fresh cut grass. Surprisingly dry flavors, clean as all hell, with SUPER fresh piney hop flavors. I love that spicy hop touch that we NEVER see here in the west coast. There’s a firm malt body but for whatever reason, it isnt sweet, it’s simply perfectly balancing so there really isn’t much bitterness...just piney hop flavors and a nuetral, deep, earthy balance. This is seriously a very very very well made IPA...probably one of my favorites as of late.

Never tried an IPA before but I’m glad I started here. Distinctly hoppy flavor and aroma, which should be obvious considering the concept of the beer. Smooth and delicious with notes of amber, wheat, and citrus fruits.

Very good all around. Nice smooth and complex. Hoppy, fruity, malty and almost tropical sweetness. Some apples too. I would love some more of this.

Bottle. Haze amber color with a nice head. Aroma of peach, caramel, sweet bananas, and citrus. Flavor of citrus, caramel, alcohol, and sweetness. Also a nice, strong taste of hops. Ends up smooth, bitter and nice. I was really into this big IIPA, need to pick up a few more bottles.

Bottle from BMan1113VR - thanks! Big malty-sweet aroma with lots of sugar, cereal, citrus, and floral hops packed in. Flavor is quite hoppy with a hefty dose of malt sweetness - citrus, earth, and floral hops dominate. Smooth finish. Good, but a tad underwhelming and overly sweet for a DIPA.

Thanks to brewblackhole. Amber color. Smell of hops, citrus, grass, pepper, citrus peal, malt and pine. Taste of hops, citrus, grass, citrus peal, malt, caramel, pine and spicy pepper.

Slightly hazy dark red-amber-orange with a puffy light tan head. Thick citrus aromas with a unique dark sweet stonefruit edge. Mild pine needles and resin is here as well and a very slight sulfery fermentation note. Sharp, scalpel-like bitterness cuts a swathe across the tongue and a dry malt fullness rolls in behind it. Flavors of dark yellow fruits, along with peach and apricot, medium-dark malt, and alcohol. It is mostly dry but does give a slight fruity sweetness perception. The body is a good example of fruity hops and soft malt sweetness alongside a forward alcohol character and a warm finish. This might be more aptly categorized a a double IPA
