Headbanger (1574), Aurora, Illinois, USA Aug 22, 2008 750ml bottle(batch D7292)-Poured a cloudy orangish amber body with a nice two finger tight white head. Aroma of hops, citrus, and more hops. Taste is of hops, malt, caramel, and some citrus. This medium to full bodied brew is fairly well balanced and quite drinkable. GeneralGao (3051), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Aug 21, 2008 750ml bottle. Poured a hazy dark orange color. The head was thick, fluffy, and off white with good retention and lacing. Pleasant aroma of pine sap, apricot, orange zest, and subdued caramel. Fairly effervescent and medium bodied. Dry with moderate bitterness. The flavor is pretty much as advertised in the commercial description. Lots of citrus fruit, less malty caramel. There was also some apricot and alcohol. Solid, but not quite a top tier IIPA in my mind. MaltOMeal (642), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA Aug 16, 2008 Updated: May 10, 2009750ml bottle shared at Houston BA Tasting. Pours a cloudy orange-amber with an off-white head. Nose is of grapefruit, pine and grass, but not pleasant enough. Taste is similar to the smell. Mouthfeel is medium and bitter. GJF (480), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA Aug 16, 2008 Very nice IPA. Pours a hazy orange with a very dense white head and nice lacing. Tons of caramel malt flavor and sweetness balanced with a bracing, dry bitter finish. Glad we can get this at John’s in I.C. now. jah noth (1015), Rochester, New York, USA Aug 15, 2008 Fruity and zesty aroma, slightly hazy, with a good head. Lots of bubbles. Great hoppy flavor, lemons and peaches and no hint of alcohol. No lingering burn. Pretty good. CanIHave4Beers (833), Des Moines, Iowa, USA Aug 15, 2008 Smell is an intensely floral hop aroma, that’s about it and I’m not complaining!
The color of this beer is the most surprising part it is a very very deep copper almost to the point of brown. The beer is very cloudy and has a massive fluffy white head that leaves tons of lace and sits beautifully on top of the beer through the full glass. The flavor is intensely bitter, and delicious. This has a very nice fresh spicy hop flavor lightly fruity and citrusy. The alcohol is particularly well hidden. This of course has a nice sharp palate, but goes down particularly smoothly.

(@ Cole’s IPA Festival; Buffalo, NY) SkyinBrian (429), Collinsville, Illinois, USA Aug 9, 2008 Champagne bottle with cork and cage (oddly enough, I thought about saving the bottle for bottling homebrew because champagne bottles rock, but it isn’t the right size for a normal bottle cap).
Okay, on to the beer. nice aroma -- lots of citrus. taste....okay, well I’m not sure how much age was on this but it doesn’t have quite the assertive bite that a fresh double IPA has, but the mellow solid malt backbone definately comes through. sweet carmel with some nuttiness. Carbonation is soft. This beer is rich and satisfying. Realy would love to have on tap sometime. well done Boulevard (Even my wife liked this looks like she is coming around to hoppier beers).
