Pours a cloudy brownish orange with fat three finger head that lasts and a little lace. Aroma of a lot of hops, leaning on the orange citrus side. Flavor is of a complex hop character still heavy on the orange with notes of lemon and spice with a nice sweet caramel malt wash in the back and a bite of bitterness in the finish. A little rough on the palate, but not overweming or aggressive. This is too big to be an IPA and more of an IIPA. Any hop head, IPA, or IIPA fan should try moelikebeer (219), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jun 24, 2008 Bottle courtesy of the ever generous Hogtownharry: Poured a clear copper color ale with a huge foamy head with good retention and good lacing. Aroma consists of dominant citrus and floral hops with a distinctive touch of grapefruit all of which constitute a near perfect aroma. Taste is a mix between some citrus and grapefruit hops with a light floral malt backbone. Bitterness is not a dominant element and I somewhat enjoy the fact that a IIPA can be something else that a bitter bomb. Average body with good carbonation and no discernable alcohol. I really enjoyed the presence of grapefruit notes and the attenuation of the bitterness. This beer really makes me want to further discover the beer form this fine brewery. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 24, 2008 Great label artwork. Dark amber with a frothy head that lingers. Nice piney hop aroma with a mild pale malt breadiness. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel with light carbonation. Good flavor is sweet bread and caramel malts holding up tasty citrus and pine sap hop flavors. Has a decently bitter hop and alcohol bite to finish. Well balanced ipa here. Trev (860), Lakeville, Minnesota, USA

Aroma is grapefruit-apricot hop, some pine tones. Underlying sweet caramel and toast.
Flavour was firm malt body with a medium citrus (apricot/grapefruit) hop.
Finishes nice and clean.
I thought that the alc blended well. JK (2949), Richfield, Minnesota, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 17, 2008 Fresh aroma of apricot, peach and pine. Foamy tan head with reddishorange haze color. Resiny hops and spice balance very nicely with the malt and apricot notes. Medium sweet, clean finish and zesty. Excellent and emminently drinkable. This is my new number one India Pale Ale. Another winner from Boulevard’s Smokestack Series. And for less than $8, well worth it.
