Commercial Description:
Double-Wide I.P.A. uses Zeus and Magnum hops for both bittering and aroma with Ahtanum hops added for aroma. There are two additional dry hopping regimen, employing Ahtanum, Centennial and Chinook hops. The resulting beer is hop forward aroma, redolent of peach and apricot. The assertive flavor bursts with the citrus qualities of blood orange and lemon with a slight caramel malt backbone to balance the intense hop flavor. There is little restraint in the flavor of this beer; it is certainly not for the pedestrian palate.

2008-05-31. Dark hazy orange body with a modest beige head. (3+) Modest hoppy aroma is a touch muted but is rather nice, orange notes. Similar flavour, oranges and tangerine hops, light pleasant bitterness throughout. (7+) Smooth average palate is almost creamy (3+) Pretty nice, I like everything it offers but would like just a little more of everything. Bottle, Mondial, Montreal, 3T

750ml bottle provided by Illinismity at Noog4. Amber-copper pour with a frothy off white head. Some sweet caramel malt and nice pine/spruce in the aroma. Very enjoyable. Overall this is a nice IPA. Flavors of Pine, spruce, and spice with a solid body that does not get in the way of the hops. Semi-dry, medium body. A solid brew all the way around.

Tasted at Noogfest 4.0 (2008). This IPA (Imperial IPA?) pours a copper gold color from a 750ml bottle. Large sized white foamy head. The aroma is floral and earthy hops, some sweet malts. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are caramel and fruity. The hops are grapefruity and citrusy. Nice balance between the malts and hops. There is a slight touch of alcohol oiliness. A medium bitterness IPA, it has the alcohol for an Imperial IPA, but not enough malts or hops for one, I think. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

[Bottle] Pours a very pretty hazy copper with a large creme colored head. Aroma has tons of citric hops with a decent malt backbone. Flavor is not as hoppy as the nose would suggest. Pretty bitter and the alcohol is not well hidden.

750mL bottle, Batch 7270. Poured a lovely shade of deeper orange with a well-retained cap of beige head. The aroma picked up a very nice array of hoppage that stood out.. apricot and grapefruit primarily with a caramel and toffee backing.. warmth brought out some peppery spicage.. juicy and welcoming. The flavor had heavy grapefruit and caramel sweetness at the core surrounded by pine, grass, and apricot bitterness.. finished a touch sour, which was refreshing. Thick and juicy on the palate, but a bit too heavy.. tacky bitterness amplified by alcohol stuck on the finish.. rather rough.

Bottle. Pours a dark golden color with an aggressive yellowish white head. The nose is all citrus. Very hoppy from the scent. Taste was very citrusy and fruity. It was very balanced with a mouthfeel that was very nice and smooth. There was also a slight alcohol warming in the back of my throat at the end, no biggie.
