Commercial Description:
Double-Wide I.P.A. uses Zeus and Magnum hops for both bittering and aroma with Ahtanum hops added for aroma. There are two additional dry hopping regimen, employing Ahtanum, Centennial and Chinook hops. The resulting beer is hop forward aroma, redolent of peach and apricot. The assertive flavor bursts with the citrus qualities of blood orange and lemon with a slight caramel malt backbone to balance the intense hop flavor. There is little restraint in the flavor of this beer; it is certainly not for the pedestrian palate.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin light orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel and grapefruit. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, grapefruit, and oranges, leading to a dry bitter finish. Thanks Storm for sharing.

(Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of Storm. Slightly hazy, amber golden with a dense, creamy, off-white head that leaves some lacework. Fresh aroma of citrus and pine. Medium body, a little low in carbonation, sweetish caramel and a dry but not overly bitter finish. A very smooth and not overly extreme Double IPA. 110108

75 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a dense white head. Pine needles and fruity notes aroma. Flavour is fruity with a slight liqourice note. Softly balanced with a nice fruity and some sweet malt flavours. Fruity and sweet at once without being overly so. Soft finish which reveals a slight note of dryness.

Bottle. Cloudy orange coloured with a huge off white head. Fruity aroma of pine needles, caramel, hops and grass. Fruity flavour of pine needles, hops, grape fruits and caramel. Dry hoppy finish. Well balanced, not to hoppy and not too sweet.

(750ml bottle) Large off-white head atop murky copper body. Aroma is moderately sweet, pineapple/grapefruit, caramel. Taste is just what the aroma suggests. Alcohol presence suggested rather than forced. Medium-full body, some acidity, chewiness. Quite tasty, though with that ABV, I would consider it a IIPA.

Objectively speaking: A generous IPA that goes beyond the All-hops norm.
I like: Healthy medium-full body without stickiness. Cleansing carbonation. Excellent white head. Fair hop complexity though not particularly focused nor straightforward. Not overly bitter. Fairly fruity and exotic feel.
I dislike: Clean yeastiness, but perhaps a bit too present in the flavour profile to ensure the hop ultimate revelations.

750ml bottle acquired trades with theisti & mreusch (thanks!). Poured a medium to deeper and cloudy amber color with a large sized off white head. Aromas of grass, hay, light caramel, and a trace of citrus. Tastes of caramel, citrus, grassiness, and earthy.
