COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Double-Wide I.P.A. uses Columbus and Magnum hops for both bittering and aroma with Chinook hops added in the whirlpool. It is dry hopped with generous amounts of Cascade, Centennial, and Chinook hops. The resulting beer has a hop forward aroma, redolent of peach and apricot. The assertive flavor bursts with the citrus qualities of blood orange and lemon with a slight caramel malt backbone to balance the intense hop flavor. There is little restraint in the flavor of this beer; it is certainly not for the pedestrian palate.

Bottle from a trade with SuzyGreenberg. Pours dark reddish orange color with huge light tan nead. Grapefruit rind aroma with some bready malts. Flavor of bitter citrus (mostly grapefruit) and some sweet caramel. Medium body with lively carbonation. Thanks Ben.

12 oz. thin-necked bottle poured to a Czech-pils glass at Lunar Brewing Co., with a clear, bright, coppery amber hue, bubbles & cakey cream colored froth to the persistent head, and thick, curtainy lacing that lastingly clung to the inside of the glass. The nose was expressive notes of grapefruit & lemon, some mid-fruit, with a touch of resin at the back. The flavor presented a large malt presence with equally big, lingering hop bitterness, some malt sweetness, medium to full body, smooth creaminess to the mouthfeel, and pleasant bitterness and dryness on the finish. Impressive! A long way from my initial intro to Boulevard years ago, via the Unfiltered Wheat and the Lunar Ale.

Pours a unfiltered amber color into my ccb pint glass. Great 1 finger head retention and beautiful lacing. Aroma of citric and piney hops with some malt to try to balance this dipa. Taste follows the nose, more complex than the average ipa. Bitter but keeps me coming back for more. This is a exceptional ipa. I’m beginning to believe the when it comes to boulevard, the smokestack beers are where its at!

Pours a burnt sienna color with a big three finger frothy rocky head that laces out nicely... Aromas of apricot and orange peel with a nice touch of pine and cedar. Flavors are rich and earthy with a very mellow bitterness. Alot of black tea coming through midpalate with a touch of fruit and caramel sweetness thats balancing out the bitter hops resulting in a really smooth finish. Very easy drinker considering it weighs in at 8.5abv YUM !

Magnum shared by UDBeernut. Artly, yer too much. Yah know, everyone that I met from Missouri up to this date has been some type of weirdo. This beer seems to prove that there must be a sizable population of sane, well rounded folks in Missouri. This of course is a mere hypothesis on my part. A mellow and understated IIPA. Undulating body. Deeper transparent amber. tin head with spotty lacing. Caramel and citrus see-saw on the tongue. A pleasant precursor to dinner.

Pours a cloudy dark orange with a lasting head of fine bubbles. Sticky lacing. Aroma is sweet apricot. Taste is resinous piney hops with some citrus zest, and just a bit of caramel sweetness to balance out the great bitterness. Silky on the palate. Great.

This beer is a golden-brown color with a medium thick off-white head that burns away slowly. Rings of lacing on the glass. Notes of sweet fruit, hops and malt in the nose. Medium to full body with a moderately bitter hops character offset by sweet tropical fruit and malts. The finish is hoppy with a lingering grapefruit aftertaste. Solid IIPA all around.

Bottle might be a bit old with best by date of 4 months ago. Pours amber with a light tan head. Aromas of citrus and pine and some caramel malt. The taste is sweeter that suspected, likely due to the age. Nothing really blowing me away. Average IPA.

Pours an amber with a good beige head. Robust fruity aroma of peach, apricot, apple, and hints of orange. Taste is not what I was expecting. Hops are abundant and it is very dry. However, the fruit goodness that I was anticipating is mostly lacking. Instead, a pine flavor is dominant, with the many of the fruits taking a back seat. It must be said that the apricot flavor is still quite noticeable, especially in the aftertaste. Very carbonated and sticky, with a bitter aftertaste. A good beer, but my impression is that it should be more than it actually is.
