lithy (1600), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Jul 13, 2008 Dark black with a fizzy dark brown head that disappears far too quickly. Weak roasted aroma. Taste is simply watery, roast malt with no hop finish. I had higher hopes. daknole (2805), Plantation, Florida, USA Jul 7, 2008 thanks unclemike for this one. pours a nice black color with a very tiny head. aromas remind me of a guinness a bit but maybe a tad more toastiness. Flavor is, well, dry. some faint sweetness and hops are on the tongue. for sure decent, but not amazing. SODAK14 (106), Rapid City, South Dakota, USA Jun 29, 2008 This beer surprised me. I actually drank it assuming I would not like it since I’m not too much into darks. Pours a dark brown and small head. Not a heavy beer like I was anticipating. I’d normally not say this but this would be an excellent beer with a burger or steak. Great taste, kinda sweet coffee/chocolate finish. HonkeyBra (1270), Lemont, Illinois, USA Jun 28, 2008 Pours a deep, velvety black with a tan head. Aroma heavy on the chocolate, as is the taste. Nice dry finish. Mouthfeel is above average with medium carbonation RSRIZZO (1345), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Jun 22, 2008 (Bottle courtesy of Headbanger). Aroma is a mellow roasted scent. Color is black with light carbonation and a thin loose head. Taste is toasted and bitter. Starting with a medium body it goes down sharp. Finish comes on with a bright roasted taste that is followed by a nice bitterness. After taste is dry, but leaves you clean. This is an easy little Stout that I would happily drink again. unclemike (834), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA Jun 22, 2008 Aroma is sharp with hops and slightly stale malts. Deep black in color with a fast fading tan head that leaves just a thin film of a head when settled. Fore is thin and watery and almost has a bit of lager taste to it. Some fairly tasty roasted malts follow and you get hints of coffee and some fruity notes. Finish is crisp and again lager like with more of that fruitiness topherh (878), Kearney, Missouri, USA Jun 11, 2008 bottle pours almost black, ruby at the edges, with a nice beige head. Chocolate and coffee aromas. Flavor is roasted malt, coffee, and a nice hoppy bitterness. A little lacking in body, but very sessionable. WesKBob (317), Bethany, Oklahoma, USA Jun 8, 2008 Pours a dark brown/black with a moderate tan head. Surprisingly sweet aroma with hints of chocolate and licorice. Similar notes in the flavor, but are dominated by roasted coffee malt taste. Awfully thin for a stout. Not bad for the price, but not a session beer.
