It seems more of a nutty aroma. The stout is slightly bitter with a smokey toasted malt flavor. The body is light to medium and the finish is quick with a tainting of sweetness. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 23, 2007 Tried this on a layover at KC International Airport, not bad, but would never buy this outside of KCI. WAY too thin and watery for a stout, although it was pretty dry as the name would suggest. Not a great beer, but better thatn the other options at the airport. BenRod (44), Springfield, Missouri, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 22, 2007 Dark brown/black, opaque appearance with a light tan head, which dissipated quickly. The aroma is primarily dark roasted malt with some element of fruitiness. Flavor is robust, with a smoky roasted malt taste. Very clean finish, with a slight coffee aftertaste, but not an unpleasant one. alexsdad06 (1080), Ohio, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 13, 2007 12 oz. bottle courtesy of jimbowood. Thanks Jimbo. Pour appears black (actually deep garnet when held to the light) with a small disappearing beige head. the aroma is roasted malt and light fruit. The flavor has the same roasted malt as the aroma with some hints of smoke. There is also light chocolate. The finish is rather short. It is dry as advertised. Lighter than I would like. Not bad overall. Zinister (1199), Houston, Texas, USA

Smoke and roast on the nose. Strong smoke flavor with roasty malts. Thin body...and a bitterish coffee after taste...although finishes pretty dry. Nice beer. luckygirl (1221), Boulder, Colorado, USA
