moejuck (1165), Ohio, USA May 26, 2007 Aroma is of sweet malts and some roasted coffee. Black body with a thin head. Medium palate. Sweet malt flavor up front with light chocolate behind that. Easy to drink, but thin flavor. golubj (1275), Sunnyvale, California, USA May 14, 2007 Draft. The beer was very dark, somewhat thin and dense head. The aroma was creamy. The flavor was very similar to a guiness; bready malt, creamy texture, and some roasted malt and chocolate. bigcat03 (191), Lincoln, Nebraska, USA May 14, 2007 Bottle from Hy-Vee poured into english pint - Pours almost black with a very slight hint of ruby and a one finger brown head; A little chocolate, roasted barley, and plenty of coffee to the nose; Mostly roast and coffee on the initial taste with some burnt chocolate; Lightly bitter roast and sweet malt aftertaste; Medium-full body; Too much carbonation; Yep...it’s a stout. Not too complex, but a stout that’s worth trying! mistersinalin (367), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA May 12, 2007 Not much light gets through this black murk. I was very surprised how smooth this beer was. A Boulevard Rep. gave me a six of these and I may start to like stouts. The only stout I have tried before is Guiness (stout), and I like this better. It was very rich and carmely. incutrav (576), Woodbury, Minnesota, USA May 10, 2007 certainly not my favorite stout, not even middle of the road. pretty plain with some nutty what not in there. pretty simple flavors all around...a miller lite drinkers beer LilKem (1210), Marietta, Ohio, USA Mar 19, 2007 dark brown with thick foamy tan head. the aroma holds scents of oatmeal, chocolate malt, and cashew and almond. the flavor is lots of oatmeal, almond, walnuts, and milk chocolate. creamy mouthfeel with slight carbonation. a pretty good stout. RealAleDave (45), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Mar 13, 2007 Black. Typical nitro faux head.
Not much on the nose. Touch of coffee, bit of malt.
Nasty nitro mouthfeel makes tasting much of anything difficult, as there’s not a lot of raw materials to work with here. Quite light, with only the slightest hint of malt, and a bit of finishing bitterness.
Creamy, drying nitro mouthfeel. Seems really artificial and confected. Not a fan. Drinkable, but barely. kimcgolf (825), Dacula, Georgia, USA Mar 4, 2007 Poured to a deep dark brown with tan head that lingered for half the glass, and left okay lacing. Pleasant aroma, though muted, of chocolate, nuts and toffee, with taste following along the same lines. The body was thin and slightly watery, and the 4.9% ABV never did make itself known. Not a bad beer, but I’ve definitely had better stouts.
