| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 7, 2005 Poured with soft carbonation, small creamy light brown head that was mostly diminishing. Body is very dark, can’t even see through it. Nose is of molasses, dark chocolate, coffee. Initial flavor is sweet and lightly bitter. Finish is long and dry and reminds me of a very strong coffee and caramel. Very drinkable. SledgeJr (2960), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Sep 27, 2005 On tap at the Crescent Moon. Pours a deep brown to black withan off-white head. Sublime roasted aroma. Smooth mild palate. This is so awesomely drinkable that I could drink a bathtub full of this stout. It has a thick body and mouthfeel, but at the same time, drinks like water. An unusually pleasant stout. hopdog (5550), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

Poured a dark black color (with red at the edges) and a very small sized off white head. Aromas and tastes of chocolate, roasted malts and light dark fruits. weeare138 (936), Collegeville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 23, 2005 Appears black with a faint white head that stays for a moment. Streaky lacing is left behind.
Smell is of black patent malt with slight sweet fruitiness.
Taste is of the same smell with not a whole lot going on to make me want more.
Mouthfeel is semi dry and slightly sweet. egajdzis (3621), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 22, 2005 Poured an opaque black color with a small, light tan head that left no lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast, nuts, smoke, and light chocolate. Taste was chocolate, some roasted, and light toasted malt, with a faint tartness, almost metallic taste in the end. A little disappointing. tjthresh (1765), Greenfield, Indiana, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Sep 6, 2005 Updated: Sep 10, 2005Served on tap at the KC Irish Fest. It was poured into a plastic cup, but I still think I got a fair evaluation. It was velvety black with and silky smooth nitro head on top. There where some very subtle roasted aroma. The soft roast carried through to the flavor. There is a bit of a sour tinge, and mild bitterness. This is a very light an refreshing stout. It was close to 90 degrees this day, and this beer really hit the spot. Crosling (1854), Loveland, Colorado, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Aug 23, 2005 Darkness in it’s fullest expression matches the look of this brew, but the head is not as impressive, slim and soon gone.
Aroma: slick, viscous, dark, molasses-like, slightly syrupy...but doesn’t stand out in the right way. Lays kind of flat, after a while.
Taste: underwhelming, flinty, dark, but lacks in texture, carbonation, mouthfeel, body. Does have a fuller body, but not as full as it ought to, and lacks considerably in character. Blah. Blech. Hooey.
Dry, yes, but seriously shy in flavor. Maybe it’s easy to drink, but easy to like, if you’re like me and you yearn for something significant in flavor.
I wanted to like it, but there’s no way around this one...sorry...
