3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 9/20 manolager (18) - Kansas, USA - MAY 19, 2003
Creamy start, not a harsh burnt taste in this stout! Sampled it in several different taps, some not properly adjusted yield a bad sample.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 BoomerSooner (17) - Norman, Oklahoma, USA - MAR 25, 2005
Man i love this stuff probably better than guinness. I think boulevard knows what they are doing. It poured black and tasted like a good chocolate flavor. Did’nt have a lastling head but made up in flavor.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 loeffler (16) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - JUN 20, 2005
A very flavorful and drinkable stout. Has a fantastic smokiness and leaves a heavy aftertaste deep in the throat for continual enjoyment. The thing that really sells me on this beer is its smoky flavor and drinkability. This is definately an old standby for when I can’t find anything new to try but want something yummy.

Good beginners dry stout. Medium boldness. Easy drinking. Excellent aroma.

This is my personal favorite of all the beers that I’ve had the pleasure of drinking. It just seems to hit my taste buds just right.

Pretty good for a less pricey stout. Drinkable. Would purchase in bulk, wouldn’t go out of my way for it.
3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 movolsfan (11) - Parkville, Missouri, USA - JAN 5, 2005
I compare all stouts to the what I consider the international standard - Guinness. For me, this is better because of how smooth it drinks. It is robust, but it goes down so easy.
2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 nocsious (3) - Kansas, USA - MAY 6, 2004 does not count
This beer has been changed in recipe to make it available in bottles according to the brewery tour guide. Before it was one of the smoothest stouts you’ll ever drink. Actually it was deficient in flavor really, but left you dry and wanting more.
The new current offering has some definite hop character in the flavor and finish, not really to style and is still a bit thin. Initial taste leads me to think I’m drinking a watered down coffee. Aroma is of roasted coffee and finishes strong of coffee notes.
Not one of Boulevards’ stronger offerings. Bully Porter is arguably their best offering.
