| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 18, 2007 Pours dark opaque brown with mahogany highlights. Thin cinnamon colored head. Smells lightly of sweet roasted malt, light sweet spice?
The first thing you notice is that the mouth is very carbonated, overly so. Masks the flavor. Some lightly roasty dark malt. Kind of limp and watery, no creaminess or driness in this dry stout. Lackluster overall. kramer (2533), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Dec 16, 2005 12 oz bottle via ericmc83. Dark mahogany pour, almost black. Very small thin and quickly fading head. Nose is black patant malt with hints of coffee. Light roast flavor with a slight sourness on the finish. Fairly thin and rather fizzy on the tongue despite bottle conditioning makes the mouthfeel a little distracting. Nothing really wrong with this, but Dry Stout usually isn’t the most mind blowing of styles. This probably would be good on nitro. PGA324 (85), Savage, Minnesota, USA
