Boulevard Ginger-Lemon Radler is a zesty, refreshing take on the tradition of mixing beer with soda or lemonade to create a light, thirst-quenching beverage ideal for warm weather. Radler (literally “cyclist,”) takes its name from active German sportsmen of a hundred years ago, but our version tastes just as good even if you do nothing more strenuous than lifting it to your lips.

On draught.
Pours a hazy yellow with a very small head.

The aroma is lemony & bright it’s lightly sweet smelling with a touch of the ginger. It’s inviting and surprising that it’s not overbearing in any elements particularly sweetness.

The flavor is tart & lemony with a nice light doughiness. The beer is sweet but decidedly not overly sweet. It’s got a mild ginger flavor up front but as the beer warms the ginger root comes out more and more... on both accounts the flavor is pretty well integrated into the flavor profile of the beer as a whole.

On all accounts a sort of benchmark for the Shandy/Radler style.

Bottle. Pours a a hazy pale yellow with a foamy white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a nice refined lemon note with a touch of wheat and a ginger bite underlying. Flavor has the same refined lemon with a more subdued finger note and a wheat backbone.

Shared from a bottle into sampler glasses. It poured a hazy golden orange colour with a sudsy head of tight little white bubbles. A spin on German/Austrian Radler beer which is typically a blend of lager with carbonated fruit juice. This one used Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat as the base, which is a really nice, light, grainy summer spritzer to begin with. The sour lemon and spicy ginger added a great new spin. Light body, tart aftertaste with just a hint of residual fruit sugar. I still prefer Stiegl, but only because I like grapefruit better than lemon and ginger. This one was very tasty too, and equally well-crafted.

16 oz pilsner style glass. Foamy and amber. Very drinkable fruit beer. Approached this one with trepidation. Turns out it’s an outstanding hot weather brew, Light, spicy, well balanced. Love it.

Wow. This was so much more than I expected. Wonderful lemon aroma and flavor. The ginger mixes in nicely. A super refreshing beer. So smooth with crisp lemon flavors. Amazing. Boulevard has done it again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Thanks to Eugene for the bottle - pours a turbid gold, looking almost like a Hefeweizen - nose of mildly sweet lemonade, melon rind, and mild ginger spiciness, but also some odd musky notes and lemon pledge kind of character as well - moderately sweet up front, but the tartness kicks in fast - medium, prickly acidity - lemon juice tart/sourness - acidity reaches a rather biting stregth (malic, citric) need the finish - ginger becomes noticeable in the finish and creates a sligh warming sensation - a lemon-lim soda quality on the tail end as well - just kind of tastes like lemonade mixed with 7-up to me, really - not really a fan.

Pours hazy yellowish like a wheat. Smell is strongly of fresh ginger. Taste is gingery spicy and dry with a light lemony and light malt background. Fairly tart. Refreshing carbonation and medium body. Very drinkable and very noticeable ginger which is nice.
