COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boulevard Ginger-Lemon Radler is a zesty, refreshing take on the tradition of mixing beer with soda or lemonade to create a light, thirst-quenching beverage ideal for warm weather. Radler (literally “cyclist,”) takes its name from active German sportsmen of a hundred years ago, but our version tastes just as good even if you do nothing more strenuous than lifting it to your lips.

Hazy straw pour, some ginger and lemon in the nose. Tasted like a radler, some lemon, ginger, citrus, medium to light palate heft and finish.

12 ounce can into pint glass, best before 5/23/2016. Pours hazy golden straw color with a 2 finger foamy and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lightly tart lemon, lime, ginger, wheat, and cracker; with light pepper, pear, apple, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of lemon/ginger, pale malt, and light earthy hop/yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of lightly tart lemon, lime, ginger, wheat, and cracker; with light pepper, pear, apple, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal bitterness and ginger spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, lime, ginger, wheat, cracker, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Very nice robustness and balance of lemon/ginger, pale malt, and light earthy hop/yeast flavors; with a great malt/tart/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Good dryness on the finish. Medium carbonation and light body; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.1%. Overall this is a very good radler. All around good robustness and balance of lemon/ginger, pale malt, and light earthy hop/yeast flavors; and very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Hazy straw yellow. The head is rocky and tenuous. I’ll bet this would look refreshing on a hot summer day. Aroma is more like ginger ale to me than lemonade, although there is definite lemon zest. The ginger really comes out in the aroma. It’s delightful. The taste is tart; very tart indeed. Puckery sour. It gets the sour/sweet balance just right. Feels fizzy and bubbly. I am not prone to this style, but I might have to work it into summer 2016.

on tap @ Hebron Brew Haus / Hebron KY --- Clear, light golden amber, full white head cover, strips of lace. Taste is watered-down lemony malt that sports a lot more bittering than I expected in a Radler. The ginger isn’t readily apparent.

Very refreshing. The lemon us much more dominant than the ginger. No burn at all.

The lemon seems to come through much more prominently than the ginger. Pretty good.

3/31/16. Growler from Craft on Draft. Hazy golden pour under a small off-white head. Ginger apparent in the aroma, mild citrus, Sprite. Nice refreshing flavor, lemon makes it mildly tart, ginger apparent but not dominant, clean, tasty. I don’t love it but it’s super poundable.

Pours a cloudy, pale, straw golden. A seltzer-ish head appears and falls just as quickly. Salty lemon and triple sec on the nose. Thicker and moister than I would’ve expected. Flavors are identical. Fun brew!
