COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Irish Ale, Boulevard’s spring seasonal beer, is our Midwestern tribute to the legendary red ales of old Ireland. Our recipe combines six kinds of pale and roasted barley malts to provide a rich, toasty flavor and tawny reddish hue. Whole hops are added to enhance the beer’s complexity and to produce a pleasing balance.

Bottle from Hy-Vee poured into english pint - Pours cranberry amber with a very small tan head; Sweet malts, some faint hops, vanilla and lots of strawberry to the nose; Reminded me of Big Red soda in a way; Good hops, malt and light roasty toasty notes on the initial taste; Much of the same minus the hops in the aftertaste; A more full medium body; Good carbonation; Way better than my first example of this style! The strawberry and vanilla were nice. Could easily drink this on a regular basis. Another great one by Boulevard.

Pours a four finger light tan head that fades slowly leaving some lace. Almost clear amber color. Light-medium carbonation and light-medium bodied. Slight malty nose. Starts almost sweet maybe caramel, clean finish. Hints of hops in aftertaste. Best by May 1, 2006. $1.49 for a 12oz bottle from John’s Grocery Iowa City, IA.

I have not met a Boulevard brew that I have not liked, maybe there are some I don’t love but like, all. Irish Ale is no exception, this session ale pours red and has a very complex taste.

12 oz bottle via csbosox(thanks!). Best by 05/05...Pours a hazy dark brown with a large tan head. Nose is a bit fruity and a tad sour with notes of strawberries and vanilla. Taste is the same with some toasted malts and a little pepper and sourness in the finish. A Pretty good dark ale albeit not real fresh. Very drinkable though.

Draft. Amber tending toward red with haze. Nice light tan head that left good lacing. nose is fruit, hops, and citurs. Kind of a roasted malt flavor with interesting hops to make a good taking brew. Mouthfeel was above average. A well crafted Irish Ale with good balance that is a pleasure to drink.

Pretty good, dinkable at the very least. Has some sweet rich maltiness, full of caramel and some light fruit flavors as well. Finishes slightly spicy, with some toasty burnt bread notes.

A dark slightly hazy amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with quite a lot of fruit and hops combined with light notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of fruit, caramel, and light notes of alcohol, leading to a very dry bitter end.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Clear orangey brown with a small, beige coloured head. Aroma of caramel and roasted malt. Medium-bodied with sweetish, roasted malts and a discreet note of smoke. Sweetness and a dry hoppiness blends together perfectly to create a very harmonious brew. A lot closer to a Scottish Ale than to Kilkenny. Lovely. 250606
