COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Irish Ale, Boulevard’s spring seasonal beer, is our Midwestern tribute to the legendary red ales of old Ireland. Our recipe combines six kinds of pale and roasted barley malts to provide a rich, toasty flavor and tawny reddish hue. Whole hops are added to enhance the beer’s complexity and to produce a pleasing balance.

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2010 Nice brew, but wouldn’t be something we’d rush out to buy more of . . . Poured from the bottle an almost clear, darkish copper color with a thin, short-lived, light-tan head. Hops and yeast dominate the aroma. Nicely hopped and carbonated. Would agree with an earlier rater that mentioned the similarities to Fat Tire -- except this is a bit stronger, with a bit more bitterness and overall flavor.

Dark red with nice head. Little lacing but overall a very nice appearance. Very light malty aroma. Nice roasted malt taste with hint of caramel. Well balanced with slight hop bitterness at the finish.

UPDATED: JUN 7, 2007 Bottle. Pours clear, light ruby with very small but constant bubbles. Medium off-white head, mostly diminishing and little lacing. Nose is cereal with toffee and some citrus hops. Taste is cereal and bread. Medium body with a thin but lively mouth-feel. Finishes slightly bitter with some dryness... mild hops. There’s nothing here that I don’t like.

rich roasty beer aroma, rich roasty malt flavor that is well balanced with hops. I'd say it has a pretty thick & silky mouthfeel & finish, medium to low carbonation, drank it pretty cold out of the bottle. Finish is greeted with some bite from the hops, a decent beer but is one of my least favorite Boulevard brews, if you like richer beers I'd highly recommend Bobs 47 or Bully Porter over this, just don't let these 200 calorie beers make ya fat.

Very dark beer with a white head. Tastie with a slight bitter flavor. But a very nice attempt at a irish ale.

-Date Tasted : 1-13-10
-Rating : 3.4
-Brew Date/Batch# : N/A
-Mode : 12oz. bottle
-Source : St. Louis area grocery
-Appearance : Great white color and light head with pretty standard lace, beer is amber and red in color like an Irish beer should be, I slight haziness apparent.
-Aroma : Smells of sweet malts which I am usually not fond of
-Flavor : Nice smooth at first presentation to the palate. Good balanced malt follows with the underlying hops, the malts stick with you long after a sip and so does a metallic aftertaste
-Overall : Impressed by this beer, I was not expecting this tasty of a beer. Great spring seasonal coming from Boulevard Brewing Co. my only complaint is the metallic finish. Drink up this seasonal.

I have not met a Boulevard brew that I have not liked, maybe there are some I don’t love but like, all. Irish Ale is no exception, this session ale pours red and has a very complex taste.

IFrom a bottle poured a dark slightly hazy amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with quite a lot of fruit and hops combined with light notes of caramel. The flavor ihas a very dry bitter end.

Bottle from Blue Max Liquors poured into English pint. Pours dark amber with very little head. Good lacing. Slight coffee aroma. Slightly bitter, very drinkable, overall a solid beer.

This is my favorite Irish Ale although it is made here in Missouri. Very tasty malt with caramel, a little sweetness. a good Irish style red ale. Too bad it is seasonal or i would buy this year round.
