750 ml bottle. So this is the last of the Smokestack beer for me to try... So far I would rate the series as a very pleasant surprise, so expectations are pretty high. Pour demonstrates very heavy carbonation (inch or two of beer, the rest of the glass is head). What beer there is is orange with a slight cloudiness to it. Aromas are sweet (honey and glazed donut), a touch or cloves and oranges and some alcohol. Flavor is OK, but maybe it needs some time to balance things out a little better. The alcohol comes off as a bit sharp and burns a bit... almost overpowering the rest of the flavors. The sweetness, cloves and citrus flavors come through, but get a bit swamped by all of the astringency. Still, this is enjoyable enough, but all remaining bottles I buy will be the IPA from the series.

Nov 30, 2008 This beer pours a clear dark orange-gold color with a thick and foamy bone white head that recedes slowly. Thick rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of Bready malt, yeast and spices in the nose. Medium-bodied with flavors of grainy malt, honey and spices. Esters and pepper are present at times. The finish is spiced and malty with a banana and yeast aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

Nov 29, 2008 Bottle thanks to Eugene. Deep golden orange hazy pour with generous slightly yellow off-white head. Sweet ripe fruits... citrus, peaches, bananas, some pear perhaps. Nice dry yeast flavor. Full palate. Very enjoyable beer.

Nov 28, 2008 Bottle: Light golden pour with floating sediment. Sweet malt and fruit/yeast aroma. More sweet malt flavor with a medium pepper and yeast flavor. Smooth brew but could use a hair less pepper and a bit more yeast and citrus.

Nov 26, 2008 Golden in color, tons of suspended yeast particles, with a massive, frothy egg-white head that is slowly diminishing, leaving behind clingy lacing. Aroma of banana, black pepper, cloves, musty basement and a bit of alcohol. Walnutty banana flavor, alcohol is fairly prevalent. Dry, alcoholic finish. Very nicely carbonated.
