3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. I hope it tastes better than the description: olives and leather?!?! Dirty red-copper with minimal head. Strong wine-vinegar aroma. Tastes like the description. Not sure that I have ever tasted pickles or olives in a beer. Cool malt undertones but sensing that the emperor is a little underdressed.

750mL thanks to Travlr! Pours a full haze, deeper orange tea. Weaker off white foam. Nose is sharp red wine, acetic, saltwater. Taste is tangy, orange, butter, tangy orange. Some sharper ruby red grapefruit juice and lime. Sharp, tangy, not too acetic. Salty all the way. Butter/diacetyl is a little distracting. As it warms, it cleans up. Salty, balsamic, red wine tannic and sharp. Bourbon barrel is a bit of a mismatch but the beer is very nice underneath. Very good.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber. Poured amber brown with a large light tan head and some dark floaters. Aroma and flavor were full of brett, a bit of funk, moderately sour, slightly sweet, lots of dark fruit (cherries in particular), some chocolate and toffee, leather. Some woodiness and a slight booziness. Dry, slightly bitter finish. Full mouthfeel. A real winner of a sour ale.

4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Very good sour. Reminds me of some of the best geuzes. The funk is immediate and apparent in the aroma and taste. Sour apple, aged wood, and yeast. Tried at the Cuniganís tasting party in 2012.

at $19, i just didnít have the funds, but a sample at a tasting, thank you .. . pours a deep tan .. medium foam .. . great tarness/funkiness .. . some wood and sweet wild leather .. . very nice stuff but a whole bottle would have been way to much .. . . "If you donít have anything nice to say donít say it at all" Mimes must be the most hateful people on earth then.

Pungent sour funky fruit, cherry. Some sweetness, Tannic fruit. Pillowy pinkish head on pour. Settles to ring on light murky brown. Taste is sour with spots of sweet. Just hints. Invigorating, wakes you up. Sour Tannic earthy funk wood. Acidity balanced is balanced withs dark fruit tart.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Appearance: Pours a murky mahogany with a micro film.
Aroma: Tart plum skin, bourbon, some coriander and or some savory spice.
Taste: Tart red fruit, mellowed bourbon, red wine vinegar. Modest tannins, lingering tartness.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied, puckering with soft carbonation.
Overall: I enjoyed this immensely. The closest thing I could compare this beer to would be Uplandís Gilgamesh, but would give this beer the slight edge on favorite. Very tasty and inviting. Sour, but not twist your face off sour. Wish I had one to sit on for a year.
