COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sour characteristics come to the fore in this release, foreshadowed by the tart, winey aroma. Notes of cherry, chocolate, olive brine, and leather give way to a subtle hint of funk and a dry, clean finish.

Acquired in a trade. I really enjoy these Boulevard beers. Enjoyed at 60F in a tulip. Very still, no head. The cork barely made it out of the bottle.

A - Murky reddish brown. Still. No lacing at all.

S - Nice grape skin musk on the nose, cherries and lavender with some oaky tropical fruit scent.

T - Very tart and bitter up front. Bretty, dry and crisp in the middle. Last bit is a weird identify crisis and i get vanilla and charred smoke and bourbon.

M - No carbonation, light body. Very dry.

O - It’s a weird beer. I love the start and hate the finish.

22oz bottle in a Trappist glass. Pours amber with a lacy, beige head. Aroma of sweet tarts, caramel malts, and some light hops. A very sour beer. Smooth texture. A good sour ale, with a lot if sourness.

Bottle poured into glass. Good bit of sour funk in this one. Nice balance between the fruit characteristics and the tartness. Easily drinkable and the ABV is masked extremely well. Very good sour!

Bottle thanks to Adam. Orange amber with white head. Tart acidic lemon aroma. Some dirtiness. Funky musty. Cleans up after a while. A good amount of fruit. 7/3/7/3/15

THE Sour and Saison tasting. Hazy amber beer, little pale tan head. Smooth palate, a little dry and soft. Cherry vinegar sourness and a little lemon acid. Not too severe but could not drink much of this!

Corked bottle and served in Duvel snifter: Pours a reddish amber hue with a fading had and minimal lace. The nose has plenty of lactic sour’d notes along with some developing barnyard funk, over-ripened cherries and biscuit, milk chocolate and caramel malt notes. My biggest issue with this brew is the phenols and a noticeable rubbing alcohol character. Seems the fermentation temps were off on this one. I really wished this was less aggressive and not as boozy for it would have been a very nice Flemish Red... but alas., I am very disappointed.

Sample at Falling Rock Beer Tasting with Dr. Bill on 10/13/2012. This beer pours a cloudy orange color with a medium thin off-white head that recedes quickly. Strings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of grapes and bready malt. Medium body with a vinous character and notes of crackery malt and touches of hops. The finish is fruity with an earthy malt aftertaste. Good overall.
