COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boulevard’s Love Child Series of "wild" ales are barrel-aged with such boisterous cultures as Lactobaccillus and Brettanomyces. These wayward offspring can prove so complex that we employ gauges on the label to convey the intensity of three key personality traits, Funk, Sour, and Fruit, presenting a picture of the ale at the time it was released. It will change as it ages, but don’t we all? Oak barrels were used to age the majority of beer used for Love Child No. 3—with beer aged from 16 months to nearly six years. Another portion of the beer spent 11 months in stainless tanks, souring on Lactobacillus. While very tart, the sourness is short-lived and the beer finishes dry with a trace of oak. Flaske på RB samling hjemme (takk til Odd Gunnar): eneste trekk i stilkarakter er det kortvarige skummet. Panelet sukker fornøyd, dette er bare helt i toppklasse. Mesterlig. Akkurat nå trenger vi ikke noe annet.

Bottle: Pour is fairly murky golden brown , with a fairly modest fine bubbled off white head into this glass. It retains on the modest side, with very light lace here - The nose is sour brown initial ; caramel, sweet tart, moving to a dusty oak treatment, with cherry pits and berries present. The flavor profile begins modest sour tartness; cherry and sweet bread, moving to more sweet tart, with a lingering bittering funk near the finish. The barrel treatment provides modest oaked elements but I question the bourbon note here. There is a hint of earth, I notice, near the finish with a touch of vanilla. Anyway - a fine attempt, I thought

Bottle shared by hu5om...thanks Ryan! - Pours rosy amber with a ring of tan head. Nose is sweet and sour, with a light cherry sweetness. Taste is bracingly sour, with lots of cherry, sweetness from the bourbon, and warmth on the finish. Medium-bodied with light carbonation.

Last beer of the weekend beer. 750 all by my damn self. Pours dark unclear amber with largish offwhite head that has some staying power. Smell is tart berries, earthy,, oak, vanilla. Not much bourbon besides the vanilla hint. Taste is sharp tart cherries, apple skins, oak. The bourbon comes across just a hint more than in the nose. More of a vanilla, oak barrel than boozy bourbon. Whatever it is, it is sour and has a pretty nice depth of flavoring. Dig it. Pretty dry finish.

Flaska från Systembolaget. Mörkt bärnstensfärgad med spritsigt cremefärgat skum. Syrlig doft med inslag av röda bär. Sur, torr smak med en ladugårdig avslutning. Fyllig munkänsla och lång eftersmak.
