COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boulevard’s Love Child Series of "wild" ales are barrel-aged with such boisterous cultures as Lactobaccillus and Brettanomyces. These wayward offspring can prove so complex that we employ gauges on the label to convey the intensity of three key personality traits, Funk, Sour, and Fruit, presenting a picture of the ale at the time it was released. It will change as it ages, but don’t we all? Oak barrels were used to age the majority of beer used for Love Child No. 3—with beer aged from 16 months to nearly six years. Another portion of the beer spent 11 months in stainless tanks, souring on Lactobacillus. While very tart, the sourness is short-lived and the beer finishes dry with a trace of oak.

Shared large bottle poured with ahazy amber body and a semi-durable head. Quite sour and lightly funky. Way more wood (barrel) effect than whisky.

Corked and caged 750 ml bottle from Tipples. Pours deep reddish orange color with a nice fluffy off white head. Aroma is muted with some metallic and cardboard notes, oak, some light sour funk, sweet fruit and a vinous presence. Flavor follows as a beautiful combination of sweet fruit, red wine, sour lacto, dry oak. Wow this is really nice. No sign of the whiskey here, but I am OK with that. The wine barrel and sour notes really take over. Medium heavy body, medium plus carbonation. Really nice beer overall.

Bottle 750ml @ Christianssand Brygghus, Kristiansand
Pours clear deep amber with a small off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, red berries, vinegar, dried fruits, funk and hint of alcohol and oak. Taste is light sweet, light bitter and medium sour with a long slightly warm, sour, berry fruity finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is sllightly fizzy

Bottle, 75cl corked, at Christianssand Brygghus. A clear one, amber in color, with a small, dense off-white head. The aroma is very fruity, with red berries, some caramel malts and vinegar. Hints of alcohol both in the aroma and the flavor. Berries, some almonds and dried apricots, a funky touch and some vinegar. It’s more or less full bodied, with a soft carbonation, quite dry, lightly tart. Lasting fruity finish. A very pleasant one, refreshing and tasteful, although I prefer the aroma over the flavor. Just slightly though. 150328

Bottle. Rich amber beer with a dark cream head. Tart and dark fruit aroma with light wine and light oak. Sour and light acetic notes with wine and lemon. Medium bodied. Sour and light acetic notes linger with wine and lemon.

Pours a hazy blood orange color with a foamy tan head and lacing. It has a rich aroma of sour cherries, horse blanket, apricot, and strawberries. The flavor is tart cherry and a lot of sourness up front with a long, dry and oaky finish over a medium body. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours dark golden. Exciting fruit and berry aroma. Unfortunately the taste is way too sour for me, like drinking lemon juice... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Whoa. I'm in love with this beer, too much might be too much, but splitting the bottle with another who loves a wild ale of this caliber and craft is, just, whoa.

[2/15/15] Bottle at Noc Noc in San Francisco. Hazy amber. Aroma of brett, oak, vinegar and a herbal note. Sour flavor with brett, some fruitiness, some vinegar, lacto and some fruitiness. Medium-bodied. Very nice.

Orangebrun klar med lite beige skum. Lukter sure bær og grønne epler. Rask sur, syrlig smak som sitter lenge. Lillestrøm ølfestival - Klimt
