COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boulevardís Love Child Series of "wild" ales are barrel-aged with such boisterous cultures as Lactobaccillus and Brettanomyces. These wayward offspring can prove so complex that we employ gauges on the label to convey the intensity of three key personality traits, Funk, Sour, and Fruit, presenting a picture of the ale at the time it was released. It will change as it ages, but donít we all? Oak barrels were used to age the majority of beer used for Love Child No. 3ówith beer aged from 16 months to nearly six years. Another portion of the beer spent 11 months in stainless tanks, souring on Lactobacillus. While very tart, the sourness is short-lived and the beer finishes dry with a trace of oak.

Tasting at Mattís, corked bottle
Hazy dark amber color with small head. Nice aroma, sour and with some fruit. Good body strength, malt flavor, very sour, a bit lemony, but also with traces of acetone.
Not very complex, but very good.

750mL bottle, pours a clear orangey amber with a small white head. Nose brings out complex yeasts, oak barrels, light vinegar and light acidity. Flavour is complex, with different yeasts, fairly high acidity, moderate vinegar, oak and some very sour fruits. Very tart and acidic, but somehow very drinkable, masking the alcohol very well. Not the most elegant sour, but this is executed very well. Very nice stuff.

Aroma is layered sour lemon acidic with underlying dark fruit. Cherry and barrel are big contributors.appears golden amber with only slight gram and spotty lacing. Taste is sour with barrel. Cherry pear, balanced white and red wine character, lemon and lime

750ML split 2 ways. 3 finger head. sort of a blood orange appearance Nose is cherry pie and a lot of sour with a touch of bourbon. This is a very sour beer. Lots of sour in this beer..whiskey like coconut and vanilla finish. lots of tart funky grapefruit sour up front with lime and woody tannins. I gotta say that Iím not actually impressed by this one. sour in all the wrong ways. interesting blend though. touch of diacytyl at the finish.

Bottle pour. Thanks for the bottle Keven! What a special beer this is. Pours a super cloudy caramel color with a lasting fizzy head. Faint sour fruit aroma. Super intense, growing sour fruit flavors. Really sour, and I love it. Canít say enough about this one. Top 5 beer for me for sure. Love it.

Pours sunset orange with a small beige head. Smells sour with a hint of vanilla sweetness. Taste is sour, sour, sour with a subtle sweet backbone. Medium-bodied with an acidic texture and mild mouth-carbonation, Boulevard Love Child No. 4 finishes with a lingering acidity.

Bottle. A: Amber color with a creme colored head and some lacing. N: Vinegar, oak, acetone, cherry, grapefruit and lemon rind. Attic and funk, red wine grape. T: Quite sour. A hint of citrus and underlying sweetness. M: Prickly. Lighter body - similar to lemon juice in its heft and assault. O: A good batch, but not as good as #3. Doesnít seem as complex to me, but I didnít have them side by side. Still worth your money, though.

Clody amber with a small head. Loads of sour notes in the aroma, loads of yeasty notes as well. Sour bomb on the tongue, huge laccto feel to this. Slight oak character, whiskey is none. Extremely tart. I liked this.

Bottle from a gas station. Pours a cloudy cherry brown. White filmy head. Funky sour aroma of cherries, fruits, wow wow wow. Fantastic. Iím going back and buying a few more tomorrow. This thing has power. Barely any whiskey flavor though. Great sour funk. Iím in love. Crisp, tart, wonderful.
