An epic blend of hops gives this IPA a world-class flavor. Currently only sold in a mixpack, this beer warrants individual release.

12oz bottle 3/6/14 (Binny’s Downers Grove Mix A Six)-51° in Shaker-Pours a pale yellow with a small off white head. Aroma of hops and more hops. Taste of citrus, pine, and slight malt. This medium bodied brew is hoppy but still well balanced.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle. Pours hazy golden orange with big yeastie floaters and a big fluffy white head that retains well and laces the glass some.
The aroma is bready malts and some fruit and floral hops.
The flavor is sweet malts with some citrus and a good sized floral, slightly resiny, hop bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and a bit watery.
Overall, a decent bitter IPA.

Pours a fairly clear godl with a little haze and nice white head. Nice heavy pine and floral aroma. Very crisp clean palate. Lots of floral and citrus hop notes balanced with a healthy amount of pine bitterness. Caramel malt th the hops balance very well with. Really good stuff.

Fruity, Piney with a kick to the palette of fresh Hops. After first taste it really calms down and you taste it on every part of your tongue.

Location: Growler from the Hay Merchant, 2/17/14
Aroma: The aroma is resin and pine, some citrus rind, toasted malts, and a little grain
Appearance: It pours a clear golden color with small white head and some light lacework
Flavor: The taste is lightly sweet, with a nice, clean, medium-plus bitterness
Palate: The body is light-medium, it has a soft carbonation, and a smooth, dry finish
First off, I like that name. As for the beer, this one was both lighter in body and less bitter than I expected. It still makes for a pretty nice beer, but I wouldn’t have guessed it at 100+ IBUs.

With its 104 IBU’s, Mid-Coast marks yet another extravagantly hopped beer that I’ve gotten to enjoy recently. Mid-Coast (the perfect name for this West Coast style IPA from the Midwest) is true to the trend in another way: it’s delicious. Boulevard has a well-deserved reputation for making some excellent hoppy brews. With this ale, they’ve exceeded expectations. With its light orange color and even, robust head, it looks beautiful. I like aromas that are noticeable without having to put your nose inside the glass. This ale doesn’t quite offer that, but the aroma is strong and seductive nonetheless. You can expect lots of orange, grapefruit, pine, and floral character. A generous sip of this IPA will provide a whole lot of hop sensations. There’s the refreshing bitterness of lemon peel, key lime, and grapefruit. Then, the sweetness of orange and a touch of caramel from the malt. Finally, there’s an herbal woodsiness. The hop oils stick to the pallet and allow the flavor to linger for some time. Boulevard has proven itself to be one of the most versatile breweries. This beer shows both how far they’ve come and the great things in store for their future.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle: It’s nice golden orange with a nice amount of well sustained white suds, gradually settling with some sticky lace. Nice, bright aromas of lemon, apricot, pine sap. The flavor is nice and dry with effervescent carbonation. Some gentle citrus sweetness with aspirin like bitterness. Bold flavors with a light body. Reppin’ the mid-coast lovely.
