2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz bottle, from Dutchís. Best by 2/16/16. Up front, a musty kind of strange malt. Chestnut, some caramel. Color is a hazy brick orange, with an astonishing amount of small particles hazing up the body. Thin khaki head, leaving very good lace. Big earthiness. Medium to bigger body. Kind of lighter carbonation. Very dry texture. Bigger bitter taste. Light sweet, more dry overall. Mild bite, bit of heat in the finish. Alright to sip on, but overall, a bit muddy and overly dry. Gets a bit better as it goes. Some nicer dark fruit character comes out, more caramel. RB says that this is with wet chinook, is it really still? Thatís hard to believe.

Pours a murky auburn with half finger tan head. Weak malty aroma. Initial flavor is of toffee and caramel but finishes with a light hop kick.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Rated based on notes taken 23 Apr 2012 -- An interesting ale. I think the spices didnít quite do it for me.

12 oz. bottle 2014. Pours a nice amber color with a large frothy fluffy khaki head that slowly settles. Aroma has nice subtle earthy hops and mellow spices and faint sweetness. Taste is bitter hops with subtle spices and some molasses shows. Nice mellow beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Fair to good. Expect a little more from here but good non the less with molasses and malts and decent hop flavor and aroma. Slightly sweet on finish to be expected from deScription.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle pour. Thank you Eugene. Pours a copper color with a thin patchy head. Sweet caramel malt aroma. Pretty hoppy flavor with some dark fruit and a little bran. Slightly bitter hop finish. Pretty good winter beer here.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle (thanks Eugene!), lightly cloudy medium amber body, cream colored head fades, nice lace. Aroma is malt and sprucy hops, a little fruit, and "fresh snow". Taste is resin and grapefruit rind, light malt, a little fruity. Finish bitter sweet. Palate is smooth, carbonation adequate. Good balance between the sweet and the hops. Not as fruity as a lot of dry hopped ales.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle thanks to beastie. Clear amber pour with dense creamy head. Aroma: piney herbal hop presence. Caramel and light molasses. I realize I didnít check the style before opening this, but at this point my guess is "hoppy amber." Taste: moderate candied sweetness combined with assertive bitterness. Still going with hoppy amber. Palate: medium body, lively carbonation, somehow feels a bit heavy. Overall: English strong ale, really? I would have only used one of those three words to describe this.
