2003 vintage. Brown-red body, slightly murky, with a thin light brown head that is mostly diminishing except for a small halo around the edge. Nose is moderately hoppy with sugary caramel and spruce intermixed. Herbal hop flavor with cloves and cinnamon, and a slightly roasty finish. Tremendously velvety and luscious texture leaves a slight carbonation singe upon the end of your tongue. Truly fantastic. This winter warmer sure was a pleasant surprise.

A lot of apples and cinnamon. Definitely a Christmas beer. Not quite as good as the Rogue Chamomile, but a heckuva lot easier to come by.

Reddish brown in color. Aroma dominated by spicy fruits and cinnamon. Flavor had an exquisite maltiness, somewhat nutty and woody with a subtle sweet fruit finish. I dig this.

Funny story - On Friday night my brother comes over, and his girlfriend had been to Kansas City for thanksgiving. She had sent some beers , including a Boulevard holiday pack that included this beer. Then I receive my Secret Santa package Saturday morning, and it includes this one, too! what are the odds? I mean I had no idea about this beer, and suddenly, I got 3 in my fridge. Anyway, breeish brown, tan head. malty, chestnut aroma, Spicy, peppery, nutmeg and a little alcohol, followed by a raisin, woodsy earthy finale. Pretty tasty Ale.

Clear amber with a minimal tan head. Seriously spicy sweet aroma. The flavor is sweet and slightly bitter. Toffee and floral nots also. Slightly dry finish and medium-full body. Very nice beer overall.

Clearly the best tasting, smelling and looking beer from Boulevard I have had. Being from St. Louis I have had most of them(pre RB). Nice hoppy nose with an abundance of malt character. Perhaps I'll think of this when I think of Boulevard, instead of drinking 10 half warm Unfiltered Weiss at a Royals game or six Ten Penny's at the Party Cove at the Lake.

I've been looking forward to this one for awhile. Poured a rich red-brown, full of yeast sediment, and with a light tan ring of foam. Aroma starts off with strong nutty notes; caramel and fruit aromas appear as the beer warms. Rich, full-bodied flavor: very fruity, with brown sugar in the aftertaste, finishing like a Belgian Strong with vinous qualities. Earthy hops are evident, especially on the back of the tongue. A very smooth, solid "winter warmer."

Slightly hazed brick-orange. Dense, large-bubbled light tan head. Bottle-conditioned. Very aromatic with cinnamon, red apple, phenols, fig leaf, and herbal hops. Luscious bready, cedary malt undertones with touches of pale malt and evergreen. Spongy, expansive carbonation. Slick mouthfeel. First taste yields a bounty of sweet malts, red apples, and alcohol. Bready malt richness gathers momentum at the center, enveloping the holiday spices and slick fruitiness. Lightly toasted malts lead the way into the finish with faint herbal and medicinal notes at the back of the throat. Subdued earthy hops linger with baked apples, fruitcake, and nutmeg. All in all, a stunning display of rich malts and warming spices. Stupendous Holiday seasonal.

Maghogany with much, rising carbonation. Forms a pillwoy,off-white head. Odd aroma. Full hops, nice malt(toffee, molasses). The yeast and spice in aroma smell belgian. Woody and peppery. Creamy mouthfeel, kind of watery texture. Up front is empty except some grains. Lots of malty(toast, fruit, toffee) flavors follow, with hops noticeabe. Cinnamon?? Where? I don't taste any, what's wrong? Finish is lingering and pleasing. Lots of malt(toast, burnt caramel) with perfect amount of hops. Might need a bit more body, but I like what the flavor has to offer. Kind of thins out about half way down the glass. Still, pretty good brew.
