3.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Nut Cracker ours a nice deep amber, with a generous head that quickly dissipated (perhaps my pouring technique). While I don’t get hardly any aroma on the nose, the taste more than makes up for it. Rich, malty, and a bit of spice, with a nice underlying sweetness (apparently molasses).
Overall a nice winter warmer for the holiday season.

Nutcracker Ale is Boulevard’s special offering for the holiday season. This hearty, warming brew is a classic winter ale, deep amber in color, with hints of molasses balanced by the "spiciness" of freshly harvested "wet" Chinook hops.

12 oz bottle from Tipsy’s. Brown with a frothy tan head. Aroma and flavor of toasted malts, nuts, caramel, spice and earth. Similar flavor, bitter and sweet with a medium body. Not bad.

Draft to taster. Looks good for the style; a mostly transparent deeper orange with thin off-white lacing. Smells sweet and malty with notes of molasses. Tastes like it smells with a bit of hops. Average on the palate. Okay.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cloudy amber-orange with tall head. Not getting much aroma - just some slight resinous hops. Taste is mildly sweet with a good grassy hop bite. Notes of roasted malt, caramel, mineral water and rye. Some spiciness nut not your typical heavily Christmas-spiced ale. Rather dry palate. Good, not great.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
16 ounce pint - Taco Mac in Woodstock, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours a relatively clear, dark amber-hued body with a slim, light beige head.
Smell: Moderately spicy with a growing pine resin presence. Toasty, crystal malts. Thin hint of fruit. A bit of alcohol.
Taste: Toasted bread, crystal maltiness with an extra sip of thinned treacle. Scantly nutty. Lightly estery. Woodsy, lightly resiny hops with very light citrus slipping in the taste. Medium bitterness, yet it still finishes a bit sweetish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Overall: It’s fine, but, I’d politely pass it up on a second occasion.
