poured from bottle into a pint glass. Pours a nice medium amber color
very good aromas of christmas spices, malts and some roasted nuts along with some resiny hop aromas as well.
medium bodied with a good attack, but lacking on the mid and back palate. Good flavors of spices, caramel, and malts
a very good christmas ale. Straight forward, but lacking a slight bit of the taste and feel.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a medium amber with a slight white head. The head on Boulevard beers seems to be pretty consistent for some reason across many styles. Aroma is slightly hoppy but nothing really stands out here. The taste is more caramel and some bitter hop bite but in a unique way. Tried a year old cellared bottle the same night and very much preferred it with the hops having faded and the malt coming to the surface more. The sweetness of the aged version really worked and made for a more "Christmas" taste.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft at Rich Os. Deep brown body with a fizzy, off-white head rapidly diminishing. Aroma of toasted grain, resin, grapefruit, spice and a hint of roasted malt. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. Similar in flavor to a black IPA with some spiciness thrown in. Lingering bitterness on top of roast and grain.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from SkyinBrian. Thanks! Pours a deep reddish brown with a dissipating offwhite head. The nose is lightly spicy, molasses and ginger, piney hops as well. On tasting, it is pretty abrasive from the Chinook. The body is medium and it just doesnít really work overall for me. Caramel. Hard to get into. Meh.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy red-amber with a small, resilient, tan head. Aroma of pine, citrus, spice, and pale and caramel malts; excellent. Taste is malty, very mildly sweet, and nicely hopped for a moderate bitterness. Not a tremendous amount of flavor, but very well balanced. Medium bodied, slightly dry. Good beer, though not as "warming" as Iím used to in a winter brew.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
A good complex beer that offers up a good array of holiday flavors! Thereís a nice citrusy-hoppy snap at first followed up by a soothing/warming effect of the malts (bringing in some flavors of caramel and warm/toasted bread). This is one of those brews that becomes more appreciable as it slowly warms up. Donít rush! Slow down and enjoy this beer to its fullest.
