LilKem (1169), Marietta, Ohio, USA Mar 22, 2008 very good, carmel and nuts, toffee, and some spice-- cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, etc. some light hints of chocolate malt but nothing to talk about. some maple. tastey but not extreme.
Acknud (608), Morganfield, Kentucky, USA Jul 26, 2008 Nice and drinkable. Lost of bitterness with a good caramel malt. Dark fruits provide some luster. WesKBob (162), Bethany, Oklahoma, USA Jul 5, 2008 Pours a dark hazy brown with a thick head and moderate lacing. Aroma is yeast and a hint of sweet fruit (raisins?). Flavor is slightly sweet with winter spices (cinnamon and nutmeg). Medium bodied with good carbonation. Not bad, but there are much better winter beers out there. pint_size (1004), Austin, Texas, USA Jun 1, 2008 5-7-08 bottle shared with lb4lb thanks to artisanbrew
Cloudy red brown amber with a good bubbly head and very slight lacing. Smell is burnt dough and is sharp. Flavor is sweet dough too. It has some actual real flavor but it just isn’t my favorite flavor. Very very similar to drinking a liquid Christmas tree - huge on pine. Rogueone (372), I F&ckin’ hate those guys from, Ohio, USA May 27, 2008 Bottle courtesy of bmartin08: Bottle says 2007 but has a best by date of 2/08. That being said... pours a very pretty dark amber with orange highlights. Relatively foamy head that lasted halfway down. Aroma is mildly spiced dark cherries, biscuity malts, light sugar. Flavor is also some cherry and light sugars, but I did not pick up the complexity that normally accompanies molasses. A bit-over carbonated and a bit of a bitter finish lacking any of the winter spice. Lumpy (1530), Carrollton, Texas, USA May 23, 2008 Bottle. Very dark brown body with a lasting foamy off white head. Very nice looking beer. Nose-dusty, peanut shells, cheap amber LME. Taste-surprisingly big flavor, high CO2, unsweet cherry liquor, low to medium alcohol, very light hops on the backend, lingering bitter, apple, unrefined raw brown sugar, berry skins, Alka-Seltzer, soy sauce, bile on the back end.
