Nutcracker Ale is Boulevardís special offering for the holiday season. This hearty, warming brew is a classic winter ale, deep amber in color, with hints of molasses balanced by the "spiciness" of freshly harvested "wet" Chinook hops.

12 oz bottle received via trade with tjthresh. Pours clear tawny with a small, fizzy, off-white head, diminishing with fair lacing. Aroma is average malt (cereal, grain), heavy hops (flowers, perfume), light yeast (sweat, leaves) with notes of nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, and cardboard. Medium bodied, gritty texture, lively carbonation, and an astringent finish. Average duration, light sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.

The nose is malty and floral with notes of caramel and pine. A hazy, mohogany brew with a frothy, medium sized off-white head. Decent lacing. Bitter, malty, tart and spicey. Complex. Long, pungent yet dry finish with clover and straw at the wee end. A very good winter warmer.

Bottle. Reddish brown pour with a thin ligh head. Aroma is fairly weak with some malt and a bit of spice. Flavor isnít all that bad. Some caramel malt flavor, some nice hops and is fairly smooth. Not the best xmas beer ever, but far from the worst.

Tasted from a bottle at the Parade of Darks in Denver, Colorado. Lightish orange appearance thatís fairly. Mildly spiced with nutmeg. Orange tasting brew that has a light to medium body and somewhat spiced. Kind of weird and not all that impressive.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with valpoaj (thanks!). Poured a medium to deeper and cloudy mahogany with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of pine, winter spices (nutmeg, cinnamon, and some others), and citrus. Like an IPA that I dumped some x-mas spices into. Tastes of caramel, spices, and citrus.

355mL courtesy of emacgee. Pours a dirty reddish brown with a two-finger tan head that has okay retention and leaves little to no lace. Aroma is brown sugar, caramel, toffee. Fairly nice. Taste is a little off- maybe since itís a 2008 bottle. There is a raw grainy mess juxtaposed with some light tartness. Interesting.
