COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Nutcracker Ale is Boulevard’s special offering for the holiday season. This hearty, warming brew is a classic winter ale, deep amber in color, with hints of molasses balanced by the "spiciness" of freshly harvested "wet" Chinook hops.

Hazy light brown liquid with a medium head that dissipates quickly. Good spicy hop balanced caramel malt nose. Very sweet malt taste. Not much spice to my surprise. Slight alcohol taste to it. Slight hop taste to it. A medium bitterness in the palate with slight caramel malt.

In bottle. Dark amber malty nose with a slight sweetness. Hops are hidden under the sweetness with a touch of stone fruit. Mouthfeel is slightly thick with modest carbonation. Nutty malty taste with sweetness hitting at the same time as the hops finish is clean with decent length. Worth the drink but not memorable. ---That dog will hunt!

Had this on tap, at a (thankfully) smoke free bar in Illinois. Nice to really be able to taste a beer at a bar, without the aroma of stale smoke! Poured a copper, to medium amber. Typical head, some retention. Smells of hops, and malt. Taste was a fine balance between floral hops, and malt, with a slight hint of yeast. As expected, the hoppiness rose as the temp rose, which worked well for me. A nice, dry-hoppy finish. Had 2 of these, not really a session beer for me, 2 was enough. But, I really enjoyed both. Nice job, Boulevard.

Pours a cloudy amber with tan one finger head. Spiciness up front which leads to a nice malty, hoppy finish. Hats off to Boulevard for another high quality brew. Try it! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A perennial winter seasonal. Amber color with a modest head. A malty sweet taste with a spicy finish.

Very dark orange pour with a thin beige head. Smell the citrusy hops, resin, and caramel. Body is super smooth. Rich caramel in the front and spiciness/bitterness in the finish. Creamy and delicious. Love this stuff. First winter beer that I can highly recommend. Boulevard makes damn good beers.

Poured very dark and slightly cloudy with off-white head. Nice lacing going on here. Nose is citrusy. Taste is also citrusy and has a caramel malty type of taste. This is a pretty damn good beer.

Wow. I’m usually not a fan of these kinds of ales (Cascade hops). But I really like this one. The only reason I git it was b/c I hd tried their Bully! Porter and loved it. Is seasonal, so you can only get it in the winter. Nice hoppiness and spicyness. The hop heads will love this. Nice in a cold winter’s night.

This one is hard to rate because the beer was inconsistant.one bottle would be excellant and the next would be lousy.I am going to rate the better ones with some minus points for inconsistancy.

Pours dark brown with a decent head. Aroma of pine & hops. Flavor starts out with carmel malt, quickly followed by a sharp hop & pine taste. I liked last years version better but still not bad.
