3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours dark amber into a pint glass with abundant off white head. Aroma of lemongrass, little malty sweetness. Tastes pretty well coincide with the aroma. Upfront malty sweetness, lemon, almost floral. Finishes dry and decently hoppy. Creamy smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, very drinkable. Not bad.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours light brown to amber gold with a large, tan head. Lacing coats the glass well. Aroma of brown sugar, caramel malt and some piney/resin hop. Flavor is of toasted grains and slightly nutty. There is a nice hop balance in the back of the mouth at the swallow. Rich and clean in the mouth.

4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
For some reason this used to taste better to me. The aroma isnít as pleasant to me as it once was, but it still looks and tastes great. Another of Boulevards ales that just arenít available long enough.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: DEC 13, 2005 Aroma of spice and some hops as well. Flavor is spice on top of a citrusy hop base flavor. I think Buch Dich put it nicely when he said, "A touch of spice covers a dark hoppy ale with a warm wool blanket." This is a nice brew indeed. Too bad itís not available for very much of the year.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Floral hoppy aroma. Dark amber with medium tan head - a bit of sediment. Immediate taste is citrus - sweet orange peel....then caramel, and a slightly dry hop finish...maybe a little too dry.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours an overly-carbonated head on a dark amber ale, have to stop mid-pour. Cream head lasts for a long time. Notable hops aroma. Spicy hops taste on a decently thicker and very bubbly consistency. Slightly dry finish with not unpleasant bitter hops aftertaste.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
P: A brown/ruby red effervescent body with lush tan micro bubble head.
S: Holiday spices, soapy hops, molasses and rich roasted syrupy malt. Spiced rum and dark fruits followed by a bready base.
T/M: Roasted caramel malts, sweet cherries, prunes, dates and a bitter floral and pine profile with a touch of citrus. Nutty with holiday spices that bring a warming holiday sensation to the palate. Heavy doses of malt but a nice hop bitterness to round it out. Body is medium-full and sticky with a gentle sting of carbonation. Finishes dry with lingering caramel and nuts.
O: A great holiday warmer that really packs a flavorful punch. The alcohol is present but does kill the palate. Canít wait to go back to Oklahoma were I can drink this yearly. Cheers!

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pub Glass@ 55f Pours a dark cloudy mahogany with a tight creamy head.
Smell: Medium malt aroma with raisins, spice and alcohol.
Taste: hints of molasses and toasted grain along with some hop character (spiciness) Chinook hops? It strikes me as young and in need of a little aging.
Mouth feel: Medium body starts sweet but the hops dry it up nicely
Itís a great winter warmer and although I havenít tried this (It is always gone by New Years) I think it could be cellared for a year or two and really round off some of it edginess
