COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Nutcracker Ale is Boulevard’s special offering for the holiday season. This hearty, warming brew is a classic winter ale, deep amber in color, with hints of molasses balanced by the "spiciness" of freshly harvested "wet" Chinook hops.

Brownish color with a thin head. Malty nose and taste. Definite presence of spices (cinnamon?). Some odd fruit flavors as well, possibly raisin. I didn't find the mix that appealing. Certainly not terrible, but far better winter brews are out there.

Hazy brown color to start with. The taste is spice, im thinking nutmeg with some cinnamon? Alcohol is the lasting flavor. Overall very smooth and little bitter and quite drinkable in small amounts.

Pours a turbid mud color, lots of material in suspension decent head. Very sweet perfumey smell, a little overpowering - but if I had this around christmastime, I think it would be great! Bubbly mouthfeel and a weak taste of cinnamon, coriander and just a sprinkle of "I'm trying too hard to make this a festive beer". I don't like this one too much right now.

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2012 Bottle (BB Jul/2012). Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white to light brown, mostly lasting. Body is hazy dark amber-brown, unfiltered. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted bread), moderately hoppy (resin, grapefruit), lightly yeasty (dough), with a light note of dried mango. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Hoppy brown ale or a dark amber ale? Very watery. Not very interesting or wintery, but ok.

Pours a dirty brown. Aroma of Christmas spices. Tastes of pie crust, cookies, gingerbread with a crisp hop bite in the finish.

This beer pours a deep orange/amber with a thin to no tan head. On the nose I get grapefruit, malt and sugar. the flavors are spicy grapefruit and a little warm I suppose. This is a different winter warmer if you ask me. Not a bad beer, but could have been done so much better. Cheers!

Another member of a variety pack, I bought for a party. It fit my budget and pleased my guests. A good holiday ale.

Pours a near clear amber brown with fair tan head. Nose is hard to distinguish. Some plum, dark fruit, a hint of alcohol spiciness. Flavor is nutty with a solid malt backbone, but the faintest hop note shows up on the tail end. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Cool label, but not exactly what I think of for a *winter warmer*.

Smell is like wet grass, hops, malts, and caramel. Look is orange, red, amber colored with a light beige colored head. Taste is light bitterness, malts, some hops. ok.
