COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Nutcracker Ale is Boulevard’s special offering for the holiday season. This hearty, warming brew is a classic winter ale, deep amber in color, with hints of molasses balanced by the "spiciness" of freshly harvested "wet" Chinook hops.

Doesn’t live up to the quality of some other boulevard brews. Didn’t get the molasses. I did taste some sweetness that I atribute to apricot or pear, maybe. I’ll admit I’m a hard sell on some of the seasonal ales!

Draught. This is a spicy winter warmer that has lots going on. But overall it is not bad.

Pours cloudy copper color with an off white head. Light nutty malt aroma with citrus peel , yeastiness, and pine. Caramel malt start followed with candied orange peel and yeast spiciness. Some booziness. Finishes pine hop and orange peel. There is almost a orange liquor flavor That runs throughout this beer. Really enjoyed.

Pours a slightly hazy dark amber with an off white head that leaves plenty of lacing down the glass. The aroma is somewhat citrusy, orange peel, spices, and slight hops. The taste is citrusy pine hops up front that does linger. There is also some caramel/brown sugar notes towards the finish.

2014 bottle served in a tulip. It pours a hazy copper brown with a fingers worth of off white head and decent lacing. Aroma is spicy up front. Dank pine aromas, some citrus, and some bread/biscuit smells. Taste is pine right up front. It than quickly transitions to a citrus/tropical fruit kind of beer with toffee and bread flavors rounding it out. Overall it is a bit booze forward and pretty sticky in your mouth. Not bad, I like it.

From a bottle. Aroma of roasted malts and earthy tones. Full body and medium-weight palate; flavors were roasted and bready with a strong alcohol backbone. Decent winter ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
