COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Nutcracker Ale is Boulevardís special offering for the holiday season. This hearty, warming brew is a classic winter ale, deep amber in color, with hints of molasses balanced by the "spiciness" of freshly harvested "wet" Chinook hops.

12 oz. bottle to lager glass. Pours dark amber with thin off white head. I get floral hops and a touch of sweet, molasses maybe. Sweet with a hopped finish. A decent winter offering.

12 oz bottle pour. Thank you Eugene. Pours a copper color with a thin patchy head. Sweet caramel malt aroma. Pretty hoppy flavor with some dark fruit and a little bran. Slightly bitter hop finish. Pretty good winter beer here.

Bottle. Poured a ruby brown with a large off white head. Nose is sweet citrus spice. Taste is lightly bitter and sweet cereal Brady malt. Mouth is medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finish is smooth and little bitter. Overall, an interesting and nice winter warmer.

Bottle (thanks Eugene!), lightly cloudy medium amber body, cream colored head fades, nice lace. Aroma is malt and sprucy hops, a little fruit, and "fresh snow". Taste is resin and grapefruit rind, light malt, a little fruity. Finish bitter sweet. Palate is smooth, carbonation adequate. Good balance between the sweet and the hops. Not as fruity as a lot of dry hopped ales.

Bottle thanks to beastie. Clear amber pour with dense creamy head. Aroma: piney herbal hop presence. Caramel and light molasses. I realize I didnít check the style before opening this, but at this point my guess is "hoppy amber." Taste: moderate candied sweetness combined with assertive bitterness. Still going with hoppy amber. Palate: medium body, lively carbonation, somehow feels a bit heavy. Overall: English strong ale, really? I would have only used one of those three words to describe this.

Bottle from elevated with commonmac. Dark plum with bubbly off white head. Subtle smell. Expected more spice nose. Malty spicy and slight hop finish. Slightly warming. Nice mouthfeel and finish. Some dark fruit. Taste seems to change over time. Grows on me. A bit oily. Pretty darn good.

Bottle purchased at Elevated in South Mpls. Plum, deep amber color. Froth is strong on this one. Lacing follows suit. Malt comes through on the nose with some undercurrent hops. Little bit of spice too. Taste leans mostly on malty sweetness after an initial hop hit. Toffee and molasses. Finish and aftertaste have plum, dark fruit elements. Improves as it progresses almost taking on an abbey dubbel feel. This is a pretty solid winter option.

Good strong aroma. Tons of molasses, booze, nutmeg, hops and a dank, after the rain type of smell that just works here. Amber color with a huge off white head. Tastes like hazelnuts, molasses, gingerbread and pumpkin pie spice with a slight hop presence in the aftertaste. Winter in a glass. At 7.8%, I donít know if I would call it a winter warmer, but this one was very good. Props for being unique; I donít know if Iíve ever had another beer like this.
