Wow I was actually surprised by this one. Pours a nice pale amber orange color with a big foamy head. Nose is a bit muted and smells of hops, flowers, citrus, and caramel. Tastes very refreshing and is extremely well balacned. The carbonation gives a nice bite. Had this while smoking a cigar and it stood up very well.

Moderate piney hops with moderate bready malts and that typical Boulevard fruity aroma. Small, creamy off-white head with good lacing. Body is clear and vibrantly orange. Flavor is weak. No real bitterness, no real taste. Watery texture with lively carbonation.

12 oz bottle pours a hazy amber body with active carbonation and a medium offwhite head. Subdued aroma of citrusy hops suggestive of ripe oranges. Medium body and carbonation. Taste is citrusy orange hops with a bitter lemongrass component. Nice caramel sweetness underneath. Tasty and sessionable.
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 GG (1980) - NorCal, California, USA - JAN 27, 2008
First off, thanks to Dansting for sending me this beer many moons ago. The beer was simply still fantastic IMO, even though it was probably past it’s prime condition. The aroma is juicy oranges and lemon peel with enough doughy malts to really keep together nicely. A touch of yeast also creeps in as it warms up. Appearance is a stunning burnt orange, hazy with a nice one-finger thick off-white head which melted away fairly quickly. Mouthfeel is slightly thick, and softly carbonated. The beer had a nice balance of juicy citrus hops and sweet malts. Malts had less caramel than I would have thought. More like a sweet bread/donut kinda thing. Outstanding pale ale. Those who are in KS/Missouri area are lucky to have a local product this tasty.

Pours a straw colored liquid with a thin head which quickly fades to a sheen. Mild smell of sweet cream and caramel. Nice medium body. The taste is a mild sweet caramel flavor with some dusty malts. Not a strong hop presence here. Not too bad.10/2002
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 ZiggyG (131) - Gladstone, Oregon, USA - JAN 11, 2008
Bottle. Pours hazy copper with a short white head that leaves lots of sticky lacing. Smell is skunk and dirt. Not enough hops in the nose for a pale in my opinion. Taste is dirty citrus the hops come though but it is too much orange and not enough bitter. This was the first pale I ever tasted and it turned me off to the style initially, I recently revisited with more maturity and I still don’t find it to be a good example of the style. Not enough hops aroma or bitterness and too unbalanced toward citrus in the flavor.

Bottle courtesy of soonah. Pours a hazy amber/copper with a nice lacing and thin white head. Smells lightly tea like and earthy. Tastes of sweet oranges, mango, some nice dry malt. Finish yields some subtle bitterness. Enjoyable.

On tap at home. Citrus and sweet notes in the aroma. Golden-copper with white head. Mild citrus, grapefruit with sweet malts balancing out the flavours. Medium hop bitter finish.
