Boulevard Pale Ale is a smooth, fruity, well-balanced beer with year-round appeal. A variety of caramel malts imparts a rich flavor and amber color, while liberal use of whole Cascade hops adds zest and aroma. Pale Ale is the first beer we brewed, and continues to be a perennial favorite.

(12 oz) Cap came off rather easily. Pours very cloudy amber with almost no head. Smells strongly of orange rind and grapefruit. Bit of hops and citrus flavors. I think ill stick with SNPA even though this is semi-local.

Because I was not very careful pouring, this bottle-conditioned beer poured slightly cloudy. It is a light amber color with a medium rocky head that dissipates quickly leaving a little lacing around the edge of the glass. I detect a light caramel malt background to the primary grapefruit aroma. The flavor is slightly sweet and extremely smooth. It is initially sweet malt with a nice hop bitterness mixed in that fades to a middle of roasted nuts. The finish is long and bitter-sweet with a faint alcohol warmth.

Bottle, best by 2/20/05. Dusty amber body, frothy white head. Primarily bright, fruity aroma of grapefruit and pineapple, caramel malt in the background. Dissapointing flavor, has a weak caramel malt backbone with a correspondingly weak hop profile. Too fizzy to boot.

Ho..Hum, another middle-of-the-road pale ale. I couldnt say anything good or bad about this one. short light sweet to bitter finish, seemed to lively and a bit watery. Miller Light with a pinch more flavor.

Poured an amber color with a small head. Floral aroma with a hint of orange.. Very refreshing light bodied beer.. Lighter hops than I like but is a good session beer.

Props to csbosox for the trade! Pours with a small white head, ok retention, no lace. Clear, light copper colored brew. Flowery nose with light citrus notes. Med/light body, good carbonation level. Light malts are toasty, light hops, pleasent fruityness. Dry, clean finish. Good intro/session beer! Thanks Chris!

Bottle... Hazy, golden ale with a small, creamy, white head. Great retention. Fruity aroma with notes of apricot, citrus, and butterscotch. The flavor is a bit sweet and fruity. The hops never really kick in as one would expect from an APA. Light-bodied and creamy with medium carbonation. Short, fruity, dry finish.

Thanks to beerhandy for this. Boulevard beers are wonderful, and this one is no exception. Pours deep, slightly turbid straw colored, with a frothy white head. Aroma of malt, hops, citrus, some fruit, slight barnyard. Tastes malty, hoppy, with a twinge of yeasty cobweb esters at the finish. As it warmed, I sensed some candi sugar and a more pronounced saisony, female taint element that wafted into my olfactory canals, titillating them and giving me semi-turgidity.

Thanks to csbosox for this one! Large white head over a sparkling clear amber body. Aroma is balanced between light malt and hops as is the flavor. Slightly malty finish with a light, but not quite watery palate.

It’s has been a few years since I had this last, all appears that little as changed, Bottled: Poured a slightly hazed amber hue with small but lasting head and very good lace. The aroma has notes of caramelized malting and biscuit, fruity and aromatic hops, some pine and grapefruit esters, and quite an earthy and yeasty nose. The taste is smooth and balanced with equal parts bitters and sweet malts with a undertone of citric and bready character. The finish is a touch astringent and has soft but lasting bitterness. The feel is overall quite average but goes down easy and quickly. A solid entry into the style, not some hopped up near IPA version, a true APA. Enjoy and thanks Chris for sending me a bottle.
