2004 bottle. Thanks to Chris (csbosox). Pale yellow-copper color with a moderate amount of white head. Aroma of soily, dirty hops, very lightly bitter. Nothing fruity or citric here. Strange, like you can smell the california ale yeast. Flavor starts out nutty and only lightly bitter. Touches of pale malt, no sweetness whatsoever. Itís not bad, and certainly has a good yeast presence. But it never really breaks in to the pale ale style. As much as I donít care for hops, this one dosent even get me interested. No hops really, just a dry nutty, light caramel malt presence. A bit of toasted malt and a clean, dry finish. Strange beer.

Mild juicy hops smell, served too cold but pleasantly biting as it warms. Cookie-cutter pale but tasty.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Slightly hazy and golden in the glass, aromas of apricot, yeast, and caramelized sugar. Tasting shows a balanced beer which is full-bodied and somewhat complex. Flavors are yeast, bread, and coriander in addition to the hoppy undertow. A little extra carbonated to supercharge the hop bite without raising the IBUs, but still a drinkable pale ale.

This is a solid but unimpresive pale ale from Boulevard. Yep, thatís about it.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JUN 13, 2011 This is a mild, balanced and drinkable pale ale. It pours a clear orange w/ a foamy white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma and flavor both are a mix of iced-tea like malt-husk character and citric hops. This is a light bodied beer but still somehow a bit creamy on the palate w/ a very slight oiliness and a prickle of fine-bubbled carbonation. My rating for this remains the same w/ some slight adjustments category by category.
Original Rating (3.4, 2004): Thanks to the Heemer77 for this business. This isnít a bad pale ale by a stretch. Itís one of the light, very drinkable kinds of Pale Ale--and thatís not a bad thing; sometimes you donít want to be picking out notes of berry, vanilla, oak and tobacco and just drink some damn beer. This particular version of that style pours a hazy orange with just a few wisps of head. Nose is fresh and citric with an emphasis on lemon. Itís on the lighter end of medium bodied but thick enough to be satisfying. The carbonation is brisk, verging on being overzealous but still within reason. Thereís just a touch of malt--more too compliment the hops than anything but itís only lightly bittered. Thereís something in there that kind of reminds me of how scotch tape smells but somehow still tastes good... I donít know what the hell that could be. This isnít a mind blowing beer and itís not trying to be. Itís a solid ale meant to be drank and not contemplated. And I think Iím going to go ahead and do just that.

Tan/pale brown with a cream colored head that subsides over the course of a minute or two and leaves some lacing. The bottle conditioning yeast is visable. The aroma is fruity and hoppy. The taste is balanced with hoppy/fruity flavors. Medium light body. The finish almost sweet and lighty bitter and short. This beer is a great session beer and is just as great on a snowy night as it is on a hot summer afternoon. The beer is brewed a few miles from my house and is my regular beer. You can almost always find it for $10 a 12 and it is on tap nearly everywhere in the KC area.

Pour is a nice light amber with a white head. Aroma is of weak hops. Flavor is also pretty weak in the hops department but the malts save this one. Decent but not outstanding.

Pours a hazy orange color. Small white head. Aroma of fruitsnacks, and citrusy hops. Flavor is malty, with a citrus/piney kick to it. Nice session brew, thanks to Heemer for this one!

One of my local favorites. Exellent fresh taste. Reminds me of Sierra Pale Ale but a little less bite. Aroma is fruity and hoppy. Good every time
