3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 agbeer (11) - Illinois, USA - JUL 5, 2011
Appearance is a hazy orange color with an almost beige colored head. Aroma is slight citrus, pine needles and freshly baked bread. It has a blended taste of citrus and bready malts with a fair level of hoppiness. Has a piney aftertaste with a slight bitterness.

a rather mediocre pale ale. Not that I even usually like pale ales...

bottle - pours amber with attractive head. Perfect balance between drinkability and beer nerd. Tasty enough to keep you interested and easy enough to drink for people that don’t drink a lot of good beer. My all time personal favorite.

The beer to order when you are in KC at either Houstons or The Plaza Three, goes great with a Prime Rib. Very light does not fill you up before you eat. You can definatly taste the hops.

One of my local favorites. Exellent fresh taste. Reminds me of Sierra Pale Ale but a little less bite. Aroma is fruity and hoppy. Good every time

Pour is normal. Slight white/tan foamy head. Light copper color. Slightly cloudy. Taste starts with hops and ends with lemon peels. Not bad.

Pours amber/golden and slightly hazy. Good head retention and some lacing on the sides. Not like a lot of stronger A.P.A’s which have strong aromas, this one has subtle, but good aroma. Good malt/hop balance. Feels smooth on the palate, no foul aftertastes and does not leave a dry tinge like other APA’s. Overall, very solid pale ale, though, I prefer other stronger pale ales. 3.4 for good appearance, balanced taste, and good feel on the palate.

Bottle conditioned, so pass on the draft and get it in the bottle. Very drinkable, not outstanding. Based in Kansas City, only available within a few hundred miles.
