COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boulevard Pale Ale is a smooth, fruity, well-balanced beer with year-round appeal. A variety of caramel malts imparts a rich flavor and amber color, while liberal use of whole Cascade hops adds zest and aroma. Pale Ale is the first beer we brewed, and continues to be a perennial favorite.

Bottle, Emporia Kansas. Average and unadventurous, albeit well-balanced APA. Very "midwest" to my tastes - conservative and unlikely to offend anyone, just not likely to make anyone scream its praises either. Unfortunately, I’m not much into balanced APAs or IPAs, hence the low rating.

Pours a clear golden amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is honey, pine and resin. Taste is sweet and refreshingly bitter. Body is light and fizzy.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 7/5/2015. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy right orange color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, apricot, apple, lemon zest, orange peel, light pine, caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus hops, fruity yeast, and moderate malt sweetness; with solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, apricot, apple, lemon zest, orange peel, light pine, caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate amount of pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, apricot, apple, lemon/orange zest, light pine, caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and robustness of citrus hops, fruity yeast, and moderate malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish as expected of 5.4%. Overall this is a very good English pale ale style. All around good robustness and balance of citrus hops, fruity yeast, and moderate malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Bottle. Pours copper with substantial head. Nose is light cascade resins - some lemon peel and pepper. Flavor is understated but complimented by an efervescent palate. Mild caramel malts accompanied by some pine notes, finishing a little sweet with good lingering citrus and pine hop resins which really contribute to the palate over the course of a pint. Classically styled APA - good drinking.

bottle @ Jungle Jim’s / Eastgate OH --- Hazy dark amber color, rocky 2" beige head, puffy swirls of lace. Aroma of malt and citrus hops. Taste is slightly sweet malt that is joined by citrus hops on the swallow, both parts moving in tandem to a solid medium long finish. An unassuming, but well-conceived Pale Ale.

Bottle conditioned, at Oread Hotel Kansas. Nice Amber hue with large frothy white slowly diminishing head and generous lacing. Delicious pine and citrus (lemon and orange marmalade) hops aromas, some white bread yeasty and caramel aromas. Moderate bitterness, moderate sweetness. Light syrupy texture, thin to average mouthfeel, average carbonation, moderately lasting bitterness, dry finish. Very pleasant.
