COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boulevard Pale Ale is a smooth, fruity, well-balanced beer with year-round appeal. A variety of caramel malts impart a rich flavor and amber color, while liberal use of whole Cascade hops adds zest and aroma. Pale Ale is the first beer we brewed, and continues to be a perennial favorite.

A copper-orange beer with a tiny head. The aroma is light hoppy & the taste is crisp hops balanced by the malt. Easy drinking with a decent mouthfeel.

Poured into my ccb pint glass. Golden brown in color with decent carbonation but only a papertgin head to show for it Aroma is very light, hard to detect much in the nose but I do smell bready yeast and feint citric from the hops. Taste follows the nose, good balance between malt and hops. Just an average beer, nothing special here.

Poured into a glass stein. Light copper color with a tight two fingers of head. Looks really nice. Honey smelling, slight hop aroma. Really had to search for this too. A bit of malt, a little more bitter at the end. Just a simple one, two profile. Light body and light carbonation. An average beer. Nice and easy to drink, but not interesting or different.

Pours a golden orange color with a small egg shell head. Aroma of sweet caramel and citrus. Taste is fruity hops with caramel and a slightly dry and bitter finish.

Originally reviewed: 4/19/09. Bottle received from monsterfat (BA) in a recent trade. Thanks much! Pours a cloudy (yeast?) deep orange with a popping white head as a capper. This fizzes down quickly, but leaves enough of a sheet to leave some pretty sticky lacing all along the glass. Smells a tad like vegetables, finishing slightly sweet like sugar cookies. Mouthfeel is firm. Easily drinkable. Flavor profile is a tad sour and yeasty at the onset, but gives way to a mellow sweetness that I really like. Nice malt presence sneaks in, with just a hint of hoppy bitterness. Well done. Recommend.

Very faint aroma, not much there at all. Pours a clear golden amber, with a full white head. This comes across as a session beer, with just touches of citrus notes and bittering. There’s very little going on, and nothing in it comes across as bad, just mediocre. It’s a drinkable beer, and easy to drink on a hot day, I’d rather reach for a pale ale with more of a backbone though.

Pours amber orange with white head. Smell of soapy orange hops. The taste is smooth mellow and great for an American English style pa. Mild grain with mild hop bitter and light fruit that hides under the bitter herbal flower hops. A solid go to being local in KC. This made me appreciate pale ales.

UPDATED: MAR 29, 2012 Boulevard’s Pale Ale may not rank as high as some other ales in terms of IBUs (31, less than the 47 of their strong porter), but don’t let that keep you away from trying out this beer even if you’re a hop-head. There are pine-like, grassy, citrus qualities of this amber-colored beer, and it has both a powerful initial taste as well as aftertaste. The smell is fairly mild, nothing memorable or offensive. I’d describe it as medium-bodied. The only real drawback is that the head overflows a bit too easily. Brewed with two row barley malt, pure water, whole hops and yeast. The malts have a caramel characteristic.

Not too shabby for a bar with poor beer selection. Not too shabby at all. Would definitely drink this again.
