3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap @ Flying Saucer 4th Anniversary party. Long lasting head and a sticky lacing. Body is dark brown. Aroma is king of different, lightly herbal, almost fennel-like. Then a soft Belgian airiness. Flavor is some esters, a little sweetness. Overall a nice beer, nothing to special.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft. Murky amber color. Aroma of chocolate and coffee grounds. Taste is a nice combination of roastiness and barnyard. Works for me.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampled at the 2012 American Craft Beer Festival. Spicy yeast and some dark fruits stood out. A pretty good beer.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sampled at STL Microfest 2012 - Pours bronze / brown with a beige head. The aroma has dark caramel malt, moderate sweetness, hints of cocoa, mild sourness and earthy yeast. This doesn’t jump right out with saison traits as most of Boulevard offerings of this style. Medium body that is a touch rough and it has light soft carbonation. The flavor starts with dark malt, bit of dry funk, caramel and cocoa. The finish has a bit of pepper and then shows some earthy saison traits. Nice beer overall, just not up to other saisons they do.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft sample in the VIP tent at Microfest 2012. Pours a semi-cloudy brown-amber color with a big beige head. Pretty funky all the way through, with bready and caramel malts, lots of earthy and leafy notes, spices, plums, and berry fruits. Medium-bodied, with a bready, earthy mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Didn’t stand out to me as much as other Boulevard saisons, but still pretty solid. Hard to find much info on this one, as it’s a test batch making the festival rounds at the moment. Hopefully we see more of it.
