COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The French-speaking region of southern Belgium is the birthplace of saison, the love child of a centuries-old tradition of small rural "farmhouse" breweries, where native yeasts and time-honored recipes combined to produce some of the world’s most distinctive beers. As a tribute to this artisanal institution, we offer our own brisk, unruly Saison. Truly an artful balancing act, it is both rustic and subtle, robust yet effervescent, spicy and fruity.

Bottle as shown. Pours a pale yellow golden with a large frothy white head that lasts awhile with a lot of bubbles and carbonation. Good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a sweet corn malt with grain and citrus. Thin mouthfeel with a very crisp lemon zest and a nice bitter finish. Very refreshing, easy to drink. A very good saison from Boulevard.

An awesome saison. Nice crisp drinkability to it but doesn’t sacrifice flavor. Can’t even notice the alcohol content. Will definitely purchase this in the near future.

Beautiful spicy and white pepper aromatics. Light gold, tall persistent head. Light and delicate body, tons of dusty character with some cherry. Great saison.

Tank 7 Golden Ale -- on tap at the brewery. Slightly unfiltered look to it. Golden. Refreshing. Crisp, but with plenty of flavor to it. Complex malty taste. I could drink this all day. And sometimes, I do.

Cloudy hay yellow pour. Large head response that sustains. Sweet scent on the nose with wheat grains. Smooth mouthfeel with a tingle. Very gentle flavors, soft fruit with a touch of alcohol. Little aftertaste but what is there adds to the entire experience. This is an excellent saison by far, and an excellent entry into the smokestack series.

Batch S8228. Lightly golden color with a plethora of bubbles rising to form a tall mound of slightly off-white foam. Really a beautiful champagne look in this one. The bubbles get smaller and fewer as the time passes, but I have yet to make a second pour. The next pour does not increase the bubbles but the head is massive and sturdy, rising high above the glass. The first few tastes are just chunks of foam. Fun from the start. The aroma is dusty malt, white currants and some hints of spice. Perhaps my judgment is atilt after just trying a saison by the brewers at "Horny Goat", but straightforward, honest and simple is much better than stating something is a saison and making a simple and insipid brew. Lightly toasted malt and hints of honey start and winnow about. Herbal hops and hints of zest mid swallow. Light willowy body. Perhaps a bit bitter in the finish and linger as I am gradually left with a old spice flavor pondering. There are slight returns of the malt, in a dry caramel accent in the finish. This was perfect after two glasses, The last half of the 750 is starting to wear on me. After a slight respite, I’m now catching vanilla malt flavors. A saison with some tripel attitudes. I must get more of this.
