COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The French-speaking region of southern Belgium is the birthplace of saison, the love child of a centuries-old tradition of small rural "farmhouse" breweries, where native yeasts and time-honored recipes combined to produce some of the world’s most distinctive beers. As a tribute to this artisanal institution, we offer our own brisk, unruly Saison. Truly an artful balancing act, it is both rustic and subtle, robust yet effervescent, spicy and fruity.

750ml bottle(batchS7290)-Pours a hazy yellow with a nice small tight white head which emits an aroma of citrus, yeast, firecracker smoke, and some hops. Taste is of the same with the hops becoming more abundant. This medium bodied brew finishes with a nice firm dryness. This is a damn good brew from Boulevard.

750ml from a trade on BA. Very intense pour, golden color with a slight cloudiness and a surprisingly fast-rising head. Had trouble keeping on top of it, actually. Nice grassy aroma, with hints of mild fruits and spice. Nothing out of the ordinary, but pleasant and well done. The flavors are less dry than I expected, given the aromas. Almost like some Saaz hops giving a flash of pilsner in there before the saison resumes. Anyways, nice stuff in the Dupont vein.

From a 750 this poured a cloudy gold with big fat white head. Nosei of citrus. Good rich mouthfeel. Flavor complex with citrus, wheat, yeast, and herbal hops. Dry finish. Very good beer.

Very tasty saison and hits the mark right on for me. I have had a few bottles and I love the spice, yeast, bread, and fruit that is this beer. I really enjoy the balance, drinkability and appearance of this beer. Carbonation and body are perfect and has hints of spice and tart.

[1390-20080524] 750mL bottle. Yeasty citrus aroma has a hint of lemon rind. Lightly hazy, yellow orange body with a long-lasting foamy white head and some floaties. Yeasty "lemon spritz" flavour has a bit of a wheat background. Medium body. Refreshing, nice lemon hints.

750, thanks to ???! Pours hazy gold with a white head that leaves sheets of lace. Brett-dominated lemony aroma. Light body and soft carbonation. Lightly sweet taste with fruit, lemon. Dry and somewhat sour finish.

Fresh bottle brought by the brewery to Cole’s, on the way to Cooperstown. Above average carbonation, certainly the Brett gives the base an added dimension of drinkability. A very good example of an American style saison, bolder spice taste.

Pours a hazy golden honey color with a very prim looking white head. This would be a wonderful food pairing beer. This has run the gamut of flavors, some vegetal, fruity, even kind of a beefy gaminess. Very yeasty in the spice category. Very dry and almost reminiscent of Orval in its bubblegum like texture. Herbal hops with some dry sage and some sour funkiness in the finish. Dry and chalky, it is good, but it is probably my least favorite of the current smokestack series I’ve tried.
