COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The French-speaking region of southern Belgium is the birthplace of saison, the love child of a centuries-old tradition of small rural "farmhouse" breweries, where native yeasts and time-honored recipes combined to produce some of the world’s most distinctive beers. As a tribute to this artisanal institution, we offer our own brisk, unruly Saison. Truly an artful balancing act, it is both rustic and subtle, robust yet effervescent, spicy and fruity.

Lightly hazy yellowish color with a nice white head. Aroma startsout with some lemon, earthy notes, yeast and some interesting peppery spice notes. Flavor is a bit dry with lemons, pepper, woody tones, earth, and a lively carbonation that really makes this a nice beer. Too bad this one is retired...its delicious.

Fairly clear golden color with a booming white head. The aroma is funk, floral and fresh fruits, I’m thinking pear, apple and banana. Light-bodied, crisp and very refreshing. The flavors are barnyard funk and fruity, mostly the same noted in the aroma with perhaps the addition of peaches. I pick up some clove as well. A light acidic spice mixes in nicely bringing the flavors together. This isn’t overly complex but just flat out tasty and drinkable with no real flaw and I’m fine with that. A damn fine drink really.

Bottle thanks to masterhomebrewer (BA)!
Batch S8093 pours effervescent hazy yellow-gold with a rocky white head. Delicate nose, lightly buttery and peppery with a dry yeasty note and unripe pears. Flavor is grainy and a bit off (magic marker), stinging body also bringing more apple and pear on the mid palate and then a decent hop bitterness (earthy with warmth) through the very long finish. Very subtle throughout, almost mistakable for a pilsner in some aspects, and insanely drinkable. Had the flavor been complete, this would be among the best saisons I’ve had.

dark yellow pour, slightly cloudy. ...abundant cirus aroma and taste. Very refreshing beer.

Excellent pour, hazy yellow with a very tall rocky white head. Bright nose of hops, citrus, and peppery dry spice. Crisp palate, dry and nice high carbonation to bring the spiciness out well. Good balance overall with a lot of spicy esters that keep this beer refreshing and delicious, one of the best saisons i’ve had in a while.

I hadn’t seen this beer in awhile, but I had no idea it was retired. I suppose the success of the Tank 7 might be responsible. A very decent saison, better than the brett, but not as good as Tank 7. Has the farmhouse funk and pungent sweetness, but not the tartness of its little cousin. Still, I’m gonna miss ya!

Pours a light gold with a foamy, creamy head. Aroma is hay, sour lemon, honey, and a floral note (think orange blossom). Flavor is wheaty at the beginning, coriander notes, slight sourness, a vit of bittrness, grassy and long finish. A very good example of the style, subtle in it’s complexity and very well made. The only improvement that could occur is for the mouthfeel to lose a bit of acidity. A very good example of an excellent style. This makes me wish Boulevard would brew more styles all the time.

750ml botte poured into a Trappist glass. This beer pours a beautiful light hay color with a nice large head that lingers and leaves nice lacing. The aroma is very fruity with hay, grapefruit and lemon. The flavor is a bit disappointing based on the aroma. It is nice, fresh and full of grass flavors but all in all a bit muted. The body is dry and crisp with a quick finish.

Bottle. Body-hazy yellow with a half inch foamy head. Nose-very floral with low perfume, coriander, light lavender and heather. Taste-high floral hops (aroma), low spice, grapefruit, hops are all over this through and through. Very clean finish, very quick and clean. An outstanding saison, albeit a little hoppy-should that cost it points? I liked this very much.

Bottle sample not for commercial sale. Yellowish color with a massive & perfect head. Intriguing aroma of damp socks, horseblanket, lemon oil and wild mountain fruit. Nice & dry on the palate with hints of Torrontes. Exotic & wild, like a blend of papaya and pineapple. A really lovely example of the style Boulevard should be proud of.
