hellbilly (793), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA Apr 20, 2008 bottle s7278 by way of indra. orange yellow color topped by a fluffy whitish head that lingers for quite some time. yeast is the first thing noticed... lots of it combined with orange skin, pale malty sweetness, spiciness and a touch of floral grassiness. the palate starts sweet but gets really dry and bitter as it finishes. flavors of dried grass, light bitterness, peppery/coriander bite and a little bit of funk all noticed as well. full bodied with a really creamy soft mouth feel that i wanted to give a 5. a bit on the sweet side.... another year or two in the bottle this will kick...
shanepardue (66), Kansas City, Missouri, USA Jul 26, 2008 Excellent summer drink. A fruit spice flavor flows through the entire sip. Orange color with semi-thick white head. Very good beer! after4ever (1652), Brier, Washington, USA Jul 25, 2008 750, corked and baled. Thanks, Skoi! Cloudy bright yellow when the bottle has been roused a bit; clear sparkling light gold before that. Dense and creamy white head, if a bit thin. Lemon and grass nose. Creamy, deliciously light body. Hay and lemon mid-palate. A delicious triumph of american engineering, getting this tricky style pointed in the right direction and behaving so attractively. JoeinUccle (624), Brussels, Belgium Jul 22, 2008 Nothing flashy, just one of the better saisons I’ve had in any country. Lovely, hazy orange color with thick, white head. Aroma is an interplay of a subtle, yeasty spiciness, cereals, citrus notes and grassy hops. Begs you to sip. Moderately bitter flavor with hints of pepper and citrus from the yeast, dry finish. Delicious. Instant classic in my book. mcbackus (566), Merritt Island, Florida, USA Jul 21, 2008 bottle batch # S7332: pours with a bick thick pure white head trhat lingers for awhile and leaves some lacing, this sits atop hazy golden colour body. aroma is lovely with barn yard, lemon, wheat malts, floral, and just a touch of sour seeps through. flavour is full of wheat and fruitiness, slight lemon and a good funky barn hay flaovur, some spices slip in to the mix also a very good saison beer. Tejas (582), Dallas, Texas, USA Jul 21, 2008 Boulevard brews this??? The same one that brewed that crap I drank in Tulsa? This is tasty and extremely drinkable. Lots of flavors going on but can’t figure them out. I’ll drink this again for sure. Huge white head that took awhile to die down while beer got a little hot might be it’s only downfall.
