Pours a dark brown with mountains of off white head. Looks delicious. Aroma is a tad roasty with some sourness. Flavor is slightly roasty and slightly sour. Also leather and wet cardboard. Nice but I don't usually like darker sour ales. But overall a nice beer.

Interesting beer is enjoyable. Lots of hop flavors and aromas with grass and herbal citrus. The funky sour notes are interesting and meld well with the hoppyness.

Pour on tap at Sourfest 2013, dark brownish pour with thin tan head, aroma brought notes of wood, oak, some booze, slight herbal notes, hints of funky brett in there as well, touch of cocoa, spice notes, kind of all over the place. Taste is a mix of dark cocoa powder, hints of earth, oak, whiskey comes through, slight bretty notes into some spice, grass, finishing with some more spice, slight fruit.

Bottle at chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2013 - London. Pours deep brown with a large, tight tan froth. Tangy wood on the nose, a bit of fruit, whiskey. Medium sweet flavor, quite woody, with marmalade and a strong alcohol character. Medium to full bodied with fine, creamy carbonation. Moderately warming to finish with ripe fruits, woody alcohol. OK.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
750 ml bottle. Rating from notes. Pours a very dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of tart cherries, red fruits, lots of barrel and oak notes. Somewhat vinous, like vinegar notes. Wheat and barrel aromatics. Flavor is mildly tart, slick, lots of red fruits and tart cherries. Some peach and fango tartness as well. A fair amount of caramel sweetness. This is interesting for sure, but not quite what I was looking for. I wish it were a bit more sour.

Flaske på RB samling hjemme (takk til Odd Gunnar): i utseende, aroma og smak minner dette mer om en "stout gone bad" som OG sa, men allikevel et eminent drikkbart øl. Som sour/wild er den utypisk.

Shared bottle at local tasting. Pours clear dark ruby with a big creamy off-white head. Aroma is malty, with an inviting sour note. Taste reminds me of a stout gone bad, creamy filling mouthfeel, lingering sweet malty.

Poured from a bomber into a pint glass. Odd beer. Fuzzy, detracting carbonation. Slightly tart flavor with no real bourbon notes. Seemingly sweet without a purpose. I'm just not sure what this beer is trying to do. No real flavor emerges out of it as you're drinking.
