On tap at Brasserie Beck. Nose has faint roast and earth; tame. Flavor hits mild dark fruit, earth, and a roasty, dry finish. Light funk through the finish.

Bottle, pours medium brown, the aroma was bretty, the flavour was also a fair bit bretty, it was quite smooth and flavourful, the brett was a nice complement and the beer was enjoyable. Thanks for the share

750ml bottle shared by jsprime with ontbeermaker, scottatron and myself. deep brown with a big tan head. huge bret nose. flavour is also all about the bret, the malt body adds some earthy complexity but really this is just a huge bret bomb. great beer.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 pras (281) - Maryland, USA - FEB 15, 2013
Popped this bad boy to celebrate getting a new job. Surprised at the relative low ratings as I thought this was a really nice beer. Appearance was a dark reddish brown. Aroma is pure brett, red wine, and cherries. I tasted a good bit of cherry, funk, and sweet malt. Beer was full bodied and effervescent. Well balanced. If I could give it a negative it would be that it was a bit sweet, would have liked it to finish a little dryer. Interested to see how my second bottle develops.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20 kuphish (378) - Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA - DEC 28, 2012
750ml bottle from savor 2012. Split with EithCubes. Pours a clear, cola brown body with garnet highlights. Huge, clingy head is pitted, dense, and light tan. Aroma has a definite barnyard character. Some grassy notes and the faint presence of sweet, rich stone fruit. Very light chocolate and roast character in the flavor is dominated by the wild sweaty notes. Slightly carbonic mineral flavor does not detract. Fruits are very light. Light body is well attenuated and very dry. Almost champagne-like carbonation. Quite low alcohol presence on the palate. Easy drinking. Overall a very nice beer, but the wild character overpowers the malts.

I really liked this sour ale. It wasn’t too puckering and the yeast flavors were very complex and being aged in oak gave it another layer.

I hung on to this bad boy way too long. The souring agent in this beer is very understated. Elegant, perhaps. The oak provides a toffee/vanilla accent that enriches the beer. Hops are strong but not overpowering. Grapefruit citrus, grass. A success.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 robgibbens (340) - Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA - NOV 27, 2012
Aged almost 6 months from when I received this bottle at SAVOR 2012. I am a big fan of both of these breweries. Let’s see how this one turned out!
Pours a dark brown. The head is light a bubbly and leaves a little lacing. It’s more bubbly than frothy. Aroma is slightly rubbery (I get this in my own Bretts that I brew so it must be an aspect of the Brett). There is a strong passion fruit or grapefruit. Very similar to a Riesling. The brew is sour like grapefruit and orange peel and very effervescent. Overall, very interesting and almost wine-like. I did not think it was great, but it’s OK.
I am interested to try this at one year with my second bottle to see how it has evolved. My experience with Brett tells me that this will be a bit different after some more aging.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 EithCubes (4193) - New Jersey, USA - OCT 13, 2012
750 via kuphish. Dark body with a reddish-amber shining through, rocky and lacing cream head. Nose is wild and Brett-heavy, taste lightly sweet and tart and wild, again Brett-forward with lighter fruit. A little pucker and little bitterness, well carbonated medium body (edging full) with some airy and mild oaky notes. Mild yeast and a touch of spice, hops have been swallowed up, lightly earthy with citrus, but the Brett dominates.

Another Blvd beer I didn’t think I’d every see, but luckily a friend got a bottle and was kind enough to share. It poured dark brown with a tan head that leaves rather quickly. The aroma is quite malty and rich along with having earthy brett, dark berries, overripe peach and some alcohol. Medium / full rich body with lots of semi-sharp carbonation distributing the flavors all through the mouth. The flavor starts with a mix of malt that’s dark and some tart/sourness, lots of bugginess, apples and earthiness. It gets more funky and dry after the initial taste and continuing with the finish. The finish is also more bretty, funky, dry and show some hoppiness. I didn’t get much oakiness from it. Really nice unique beer from two of my favorite breweries.
