Boulevard Single-Wide I.P.A. is our take on a style that originated in 18th century Great Britain. This American version—inspired by our Smokestack Series Double-Wide I.P.A.—boasts a heady combination of six varieties of hops, some of which were employed for dry-hopping.

In short: A tasty fruity blonde IPA with a grapefruity tartness and harsh mouthdrying bitterness. Good session beer.
How: Bottle 12oz. Consumed fresh a few weeks after receiving it from Blutt59, thanks a lot Bob
The look: Cloudy golden-blonde topped by a medium off-white head with medium retention
In long: Nicely hoppy nose that is both floral and grapefruity. Chewy body with bready malts, a good amount of honey and a touch of caramel. Hops are very much of the fruity side with pineapples, grapefruits, citrus and such. With the description I just gave the beer it seems like a soft fruity IPA but the trust is that the bitterness is a bit harsh, sand-peppery with a strong salty/minerals mouth-drying character. Dry salty tartness. Really nice session beer. This beer is exactly what the doctor ordered. The doctor had a hard day and ordered something to wind down.

Pretty good. Gold-amber and pours with a thick head. Good lacing. Citrusy and herbal with lemon and some light malty sweetness underneath. The aroma shows citrus hops but it’s not all that strong. Some light gradual bitterness in the finish. Very refreshing. This is not a hop bomb but it’s moderately hopped and enough there to pass as good IPA. While not as good, parts of this remind me of Two Hearted.

Clear light amber with a frothy white head. Mild hop aromas with grainy pale malts. Smooth medium body. Lightly sweet pale malt flavors with some mild spicy hops. Draft@ Taphouse Bellevue.

Poured into a English pint. Thick white head that didn’t emit much aromas. The initial taste was citrusy with hints of hops. Palate was lacking and the body was weak for the taste. Not very memorable.

GABF 2009. Medium amber color with a lasting off-white head. Aroma is sweet malt and floral and citrus hops. Flavor is pale and caramel malt and a complex, but not very intense, hop profile that is mainly citrus (orange and grapefruit) but includes some floral and earthy qualities as well. Palate is pretty standard for the style - medium body and carbonation. Overall a good but not great IPA.

Bottle. Amber. Big head lasts forever in my new Sierra Nevada glass. After a week of sours, IBUs and ABVs at GABF this really hits the spot on the ride home! Perfect level of hops. Nice easy drinking pleasurable IPA. Not aggressive but not asleep either. Nice malt sweetness and a joy to drink.

12 oz bottle. Beautiful grapefruit and orange aroma with a perfume backend of lavender. A nice dry sweetness followed by a slow building bitterness. This had a fantastic finish. Pretty drinkable as well.

Bottle sampled on 7/26/09: Pours a transparent bright golden brass with a frothy creamy-lacing off-white head. Aroma of fresh grapefruity hops and some light pale malty sweetness. Starts with decent fullness and some light caramel sweetness with some lemon citrus and grassy hop bitterness. Finishes crisp and bittersweet. A pretty decent IPA.

Tap @ Eastburn... Poured a hazy orange with a white head. Nice hoppy nose with a floral bouquet and a nice citrus crispness. Really well balanced with sweet, fruity notes and earthy hops. A creamy grain character that showed off cracker-like malts and a hop bitterness returned to the finish.

Pours orange with a white head. Very good IPA although a bit more dry than most. Good fruit flavor, but also works in some floral/grass as well. I like the combination of hops in this one. It has a good body to really allow the flavor enjoyment to commence. Rock solid offering.
